Nyx'S Pov Since the day at the orphanage, I've been visiting them every day. Always in the afternoons when I have nothing else to do. And when I'm home, I spend the rest of my time in the library, buried in books. Not the romantic kind. The serious kind. Books on wolves, curses, bloodlines, magic, and ancient healers. Books that talk about pain and the strange ways it affects werewolves. Because Caspian's pain wasn’t ordinary. And even though he never talks about it, I can see it in his eyes. By noon the sun was blazing hot. The house felt like an oven even with the AC running full blast. I changed into my red bikini, grabbed a towel and a book, and headed to the pool. Jax was nowhere in sight. Good. I needed time alone to clear my head.
