Yvette said with teary eyes, "Do you blame me for coming back and taking over your place, Wendy? But I can't help it—I really wanted a family!" I collapsed onto the floor. The pain from my old injuries flared up from Connor's kick, making me black out for a moment. Unable to hold it in any longer, I spat out a mouthful of black blood. Mom gasped and tried to help me up. Connor's expression faltered, yet he still scolded me harshly, "You suck at pretending! You're even spitting out black blood? Do you think you're acting?" I couldn't say a word, and I didn't want Mom to touch me. As such, I could only back away desperately.

All I could hope for her to be happy and never come back to this place . I got up from the park bench . The early morning sun didn't help much with the cold either. I smiled at how terrified Belle was of giving her finals . She had clung on the phone call forever to find comfort .It felt good to know that the things that scared her were as simple as that. I picked up my pace to the haunted place I was forced to call home .

With that I fell into a deep slumber. I woke up with a pain in my neck,it wasn't easy sleeping on the bare floor. Also it seemed I had caught a cold, I sneezed and my eyes watered. I checked the time on my Watch..it was one of my most prized possession, it was given to me by Christine as a birthday gift. It was 6:30 AM. I quickly arranged myself, I was hungry as hell,but there was no way I could get anything to eat. The restaurant usually opens by 7:30AM, it would be a very long time but I have no choice.

“I’m just saying, if I do become immortal, I'll never work a night shift again. Ever. I will haunt the rich exclusively.” I snorted. “You already do that.” She grinned. “Practice makes perfect.” Then it happened. A scream tore through the night. Not a drunk’s yell. Not laughter. Not a lover’s argument spilling into the street. This was pain—pure, ripping, animal. Mae froze. So did I. Another scream followed. Closer. Then another, layered over it, deeper and broken short like someone choking on their own blood. My stomach dropped. “That’s not—” Mae started.

A magical social feed opened like a twisted version of F******k. RonanDuskbane posted: “New moon training group meets at midnight. If you’re too slow, don’t bother showing up.” KaelithD posted a poll: “Who’s hotter: me, or me on fire?” Faculty Reminder: “Do not summon demons in the cafeteria again.” I sat back and let out a long, slow breath. Magic. Memory loss. Monsters. And a talking wolf in my head. This was going to be wild.

His hand lifted, hovered just inches from the handle. If he turned it , if he stepped inside there’d be no undoing it. Not this time. He could finish what they started. Bury himself so deep inside that mouth, inside that want, that for a few hours, he wouldn’t have to think about betrayal and bloodlines and wedding vows. He could forget. But the thing about monsters was they followed you, even after the lights went out. And Rafael already knew, no matter how hard he tried to kill this thing between them, it wouldn’t stay buried.

Jasmine "We all are monsters," Rei replied. "It’s how we live another day and how we can live with ourselves when we finally sleep. You’re not unaccustomed to monsters. You’ve lived with one for most of your life.” Reinaldo laid his arm on the top of the booth behind me. “I’ve been thinking about last night.” Warmth filled my cheeks as I released the stem of my glass. “Me too.” “Now that we’ve been formally introduced, I’d like to get to know you better.”

Dominic caught the scent of my sudden fear instantly, a dark, mocking smile tugging at the corner of his lips. “You’re scared of me,” he murmured, his voice a dangerously quiet, gravelly purr that vibrated across the dead space between us. He leaned forward slightly over the body, bringing his sharp, chiseled features into my field of vision. “Good. If last night wasn’t clear enough for you in my chambers… now you know why they call me the Monster Alpha King. Now you know exactly what happens when someone betrays me or alters my protocols.”

No one spoke during their journey in returning to the Altamonte pack. That is to rest their body after an exhausting night of figthing tiny monsters who shows obnoxious behaviour and damages the establishments. Everything was easy to handle; however, the number of monsters they had encountered is uncountable. That is what drained their energy. Sebastian is closing his eyes; sometimes trying to sleep or endeavoring to remember his observations on each monsters they had fought tonight. It is beneficial and would hasten their progress in eliminating them.
