Completely disgusted, Pia Drew walked briskly going inside but Andrew held her hand tightly that he could feel her bones in his palm. "Remember everything you did in the library?" Andrew showed his dimpled left cheek. "Are artists supposed to be trained how to handle situations like that?" Pia Drew hardly pulled off his hand from her wrist. "Sunny, why do you hate me so much?" There was a sudden silence while their eyes met. That was the very first time Pia Drew heard him call her Sunny. "Do you expect all people to like you?" "No. That's why I want to get you to like me."

Chapter 4 It was eleven o’clock when I was able to drag myself out of bed. I found it extra strange that my mother didn’t come up to drag me out of the bed herself after all, that was her usual M.O. I could hear their voices from downstairs so I knew that both of them were awake. They rest of my family were usually cheerful in the morning appreciating the sunshine and whatever, while me on the other hand was always very grumpy and it annoyed my mother to insanity which also makes her grumpy in the morning and then my brother turns into another grumpy demon because everyone else was grumpy. It was a strange, vicious cycle.

“I just don’t want to make it difficult for you to sell here all day. Don’t worry, and the vegetables don’t spoil because I give them to the poor.” Sunshine was impressed with the young man because he was smart, especially with like her that was also poor. She was about to smile when she suddenly caught sight of a man who looked sharp at them. The look he gave her was threatening. The kind of threat that if she smiles at another man, there will be a punishment in return.

Chole faked a snap, rolling her eyes. "So, I’m bitter because I don’t smile?" Griffin raised a brow, pretending to be offended. "You’re the only person I know who can go a full twenty-four hours without smiling. At least Stefan smiles now that he’s with the love of his life, and Kai doesn’t make frowning his full-time job," Chole scoffed. "Hmm." Griffin leaned closer to her. "I don’t know... maybe you can start making me smile." His sudden proximity stirred something strange inside her. "I... I’m not that good at making people smile," she stuttered.

At least I will have James by my side. The next few days pass like a blur, but gradually, Mr Grumpy starts to get stronger. By now he is able to walk on his own, albeit slowly around the house. We fall into a new normal, with very little talking. Mostly, I stay out of his way and spend my time outside. I don’t venture too far, but with my sharpened stick, I try to find a way out of this place. The sun is already setting when I return to the cottage, disappointed, sweaty and frustrated. I halt in my steps when I see Grumpy standing by the door, a deep frown on his face, his body on high alert.
