Emma’s hair suddenly started turning white, growing till it began to sweep the ground. Her claws had become sharp from her training. Now they started to grow longer. This was not a battle that they could win and they knew. But death was their portion, and Emma was the messenger. Emma charged towards them, slitting their throat like a trained swordsman. She didn’t give them the chance to see her coming. Immediately, their bodies fell to the ground, with blood all over the ground. “ASKARI! Come and pick your children!” Emma said with a loud voice, as she wiped their blood from her hands.

Hidden from veiw. I turn on the shower. The hot water hits my shoulders with strong force. I wash myself quickly and without thought. Then I step out of the shower. I tie a white towel around my body at the waist area. The knot sits loose on my hips. I walk into the living room. Headlights move across the window coverings. A vehicle enters the driveway. So I stand and wait. The front door opens. Emma steps inside. She’s laughing into her phone.Her voice is bright, light, and happy.

asks a very sore Hector, his lips barely able to open to speak. “It was holy water. Come on, let's join the others for the next round. Once back together, Rex addresses them all. “I guess, are there any tips to not attack?” asks Ash. “It shouldn’t be this hard,” says Ruby. “Stop being babies. We got this. At least I do,” says Trevor. “I didn’t think this would be hard and then I heard the blood and smelled it and I just couldn’t stop myself.” Hector sighs “Well, the only tip I can give you is willpower. Have the powerful will to control yourself. You will learn. We all learn this way. Next round. Trevor you're up.”

****************** Emma's POV My gaze flickered from my phone and back to the ingredients over the counter then back to my phone, reading the stupid instructions for the umpteenth time. Beat in the eggs, one at a time. I read it over and over again, my eyes squinting at the eggs sitting over there waiting for me to crack. I nodded, determined before I placed my phone away and pulled my sleeves up, ready to do it. Breath in, breath out. Here goes nothing.

She bows. “Bring the water over here,” Emma commands, taking her seat. Still standing, I watch her move past me, her clothes brushing over my knuckle and stirring something inside me. She smells better this morning, fresh herbs and lavender. It makes my mouth water. I take a seat, keeping the briefcase beside me. Once she's done pouring water for us. I lift my glass to my lips. I'm not in the mood for this breakfast, but knowing Emma, she won't let me leave until I have a bite.

Early in the morning, Hana was on the other side of the fence, gathering all 60 people in the shared dorm room. Then put into each of them a bottle of clear water. Hana gave Emma two bottles. Hana then carefully instructed each of them on how to use it. Three hours away from the match, Hana stood still and watched the effects of the water level nervously. Despite her belief in herself, the physically exotic people are different from real werewolves, so Hana is unsure of the success rate.

She wanted to be left alone. She heard the crunch of leaves behind her. “For the love of the Moon Goddess, LEAVE ME ALONE!” she yelled without looking back to see who was coming up behind her. She scoffed and rolled her eyes when she heard the footsteps retreating. At least someone listens. She thought to herself. Emma took off her shoes and her socks and dangled her feet in the water. The water was starting to get cold, a warning of the winter that was just around the bend. Although, it was still warm enough that she decided a quick swim would help her relax.

"Um, want to sit down? I think I'd like something to drink. I'm always so parched after being on the airplane." I recognized a change-of-subject tactic when I heard one. I could've called her on it, but I decided to be kind. "Sure. I'll have whatever you're having." Emma had opened the fridge, and now she stuck her head around the door to look at me, her blue eyes skeptical. "I'm having seltzer with a lime. But I have beer, or wine, or just plain water." "Just plain water's good. I'd love a beer, but I need to get in to the hospital early tomorrow morning." I sank down into a cushion of the huge couch. "Wow. This is really comfortable. I might not get up again."

I strip my dirty shirt and toss it to the floor and step inside. The first drops of water are hot and feel like heaven against my skin. I lean my head back and let the water cascade over my dirty and acheing body. I quickly wash up with the shampoo and conditioner as best as I can. The dirt rolls in rivers down to the drain and washes away any trace of me being here. Once I am satisfied I turn off the water and graciously take the towel from Emma. She holds onto my elbow as she carefully guides me to the benches where she sits be down. "Can I brush your hair for you?" She questions quietly from behind me.

She pushed her head into the small body of bath water, lowering it till she was well under the water, she held her breath, then pushed air out of them, causing bubbles to float at the surface. Emma, how was she? how was she taking it in? didn't look well when they were still together, she crumpled immediately she sighted the body, didn't utter a word as Jemi held her. she was in shock, the turmoil would come later, she had her parents, she'll be fine. there was a knock on the bathroom door she rose out of the water, hair damp on her face, and she gasped for breath. "Jemi are you still in there?"
