I tensed but didn't move away. "My son never deserved you," he said. His hand reached for mine, hesitating before touching me. "May I?" I nodded, despite every instinct screaming to pull away. When his fingers touched mine, warmth spread through my entire body. It was nothing like what I'd felt with Lucas. This was deeper, steadier. "I don't understand," I admitted. "How can this be happening now?" "Sometimes the Goddess works in ways we cannot comprehend," he replied. "But I need you to know that I would never treat you the way Lucas did."

Zephyr closed her eyes, bracing herself for the skull-cracking impact, but it never came. She slowly opened her eyes, and they widened in shock when she realized she was in the Alpha’s arms. His dark gray eyes glared at hers, and Zephyr immediately forgot how to breathe. His lips suddenly tilted into a sinister smirk, frightening her even more. "You prayed for death, and here I am," he said coldly. Before Zephyr could process his words, Damon swiftly drew his dagger and stabbed her. Zephyr's eyes widened slightly, and she instantly felt her life draining away. She couldn't form any words as she felt herself succumb to the darkness.

My hands remained frozen mid air, I feared that if I moved the moment would shatter away. My heart was beating loudly in my chest from the mere sight of this. “H.. Hades,” a voice called. I was too far lost in my shock to notice that I had run into his arms. “How? When did you?” I stuttered, fumbling over the words. Hades smiled softly, waiting for me to slowly gather myself together. My eyes remained fixed on the garden, Hades must have planted over a thousand ghost orchids in here. This was the same spot we had sex in, this was the beginning of our entanglement in the tapestry of love and lust, dancing through the intricacies of fate and destiny.

There was nothing but blood in my eyes as I passed out and when I opened my eyes again, I was in Alpha Adelard’s mansion. Now, Persephone had prohibited me from leaving. If I so much as stepped out of the room, she appeared from nowhere, pushing me back in with growls and snarls. Honestly, it was difficult to believe she liked me when she had become a lot more hostile towards me. It was amazing but when I teased her, she looked away rather than countering me. When I touched her, she did not flinch and when I told her I loved her, she got suspiciously red.

It was this king of darkness, who had given me all his tenderness. Tears blurred my vision. A soft breeze rustled through the Tree of Eternity, and its silver petals began to fall around us like snow, releasing a cool, enchanting fragrance. There, in that sea of blooming flowers, Hades gently took my hand. As if by magic, he produced a gem that held a captured star. "Lyra," Hades said, his voice steady and deep with emotion. "Will you stay by my side, forever? Will you share my throne, and rule the Underworld with me?"
