Persephone purrs, her face lighting up with a smile when I look back at her before she turns and strolls out of the room.

Knowing that Persephone was such a foodie, I figured she must have ran away with the food items. It was then that the harsh reality dawned on me and I began to take slow, dejected steps towards the room. The moment I opened it again, her nauseating scent hit me, causing me to pause from how overwhelming it was to feel her so strongly when she was not even here. "Persephone..." I muttered, my voice nothing less than a defeated whisper as I tried to stomach the fact that it might just be over. I could continue to force her to be mine, but she would always make it clear to me that she was not really interested.
