Chapter 179 Piper's POV The city was alive with neon lights reflecting off wet pavement from an earlier rain, laughter spilling from every corner, and the electric buzz of excitement that only Halloween could bring. People in costumes filled the streets like a moving painting with superheroes striking poses, witches with elaborate makeup, vampires with fake blood dripping dramatically, and a few who clearly didn't understand the concept of dressing up at all and were just wearing their regular clothes with cat ears.

Winter POV The pack grounds never looked like this before. Strings of orange lanterns hung between the trees, glowing like small captured suns. The scent of roasted corn and caramel filled the air, blending with the faint musk of wolves in human skin. Children ran past in tiny costumes, miniature witches with glitter-painted faces, little wolves wearing fuzzy ears that looked too big for their heads. Laughter rolled through the clearing like music. It was the annual Crescent Moon Halloween Fair, a tradition my mother insisted we keep every year. But this time, everything felt different. Maybe because of him.

MY LAST LETTER, When we were young, we thought the world was our oyster, I didnt like oysters and when I told you, you would just laugh about it and say it is just a phrase but now it isnt. The world is truly an oyster but it just turns out that I dont like the world just like I dont like oysters and I guess it isnt ours anymore because you are gone. Normally when people would write letters after their loved ones departure, it was always something of a goodbye note or something to ease the pain they feel. I discovered that my attempts at letting go sucks.

I heaved a sigh from the embarrassment, slowly slapped my cheeks from what had happened. I looked at the last envelope in my hands. As I studied the receiver's details, I found out it was addressed to a Reaper named Doom—which only means I had sent the wrong letter. I am certainly doomed. Rule No. 1 – Letters should be sent to the correct receiver. Once a letter is given to the wrong entity, the Herald will be deranked. I was suddenly reminded of the first rule of Heraldship—and the most important one. I panicked and jumped again to the Reaper's room.
