We walked through the lobby towards the bustling Manhattan streets. "Used to getting what I want, Miss Heather." He replied in a low voice, making my stomach flutter. I ignored his last words and shifted my gaze to the lanterns being set up in a corner. Oliver mentioned something about a festival in Manhattan. "Is there an event happening here?" I asked, pointing to the lanterns. He turned to look at me. "Halloween. Some blocks will be closed for half a day." "Oh." I nodded slightly while still looking at the lanterns. Some were shaped like pumpkins and bats. I had never seen a festival before, except for school festivals.

Annabel's POV The streets were alive with children rushing from door to door, their laughter and excited shrieks filling the crisp Halloween night. The soft glow of porch lights and the flicker of jack-o'-lanterns cast warm shadows over the sidewalks, but I was focused on one family in particular. From a distance, I watched Ava and Tristan as they moved along, hand in hand, pausing to collect candy from every door. Jayson stood beside me, his little pumpkin bucket nearly overflowing, but he wasn’t done yet.

Bonnie said. “I say, keep walking, let’s enjoy our time while we are here,” June said cheerfully. Elizabeth smiled and the two of them began to walk down the road. Bonnie sighed and followed them reluctantly. Halloween celebrations were in full bloom in Connecticut. Houses were decorated with assortment of decorations. Children in colourful costumes, supervised by adults had started coming out of the houses. The three girls watched as a group of teenagers, all of them clad in Halloween costumes emerged from a link-road. They were laughing and chatting about going to a party. One of the girls who was in a witch costume smiled at the three of them.

“It’s not that I want to think dark thoughts, but strange letters keep coming in from someone I don’t know.” “Letters?” Tessa’s brows lifted as she stepped closer. Haley nodded, exhaling slowly. “Yeah. They’ve been coming for weeks now. All with weird maps attached. Just before you arrived, the same kind of letter came in. That’s why I had the knife. Just in case it wasn’t you standing out there.” Tessa chuckled, clearly trying to lighten the mood. “It’s probably some glitch or promo spam. Maybe an online store you bought something from. ~Kara's POV~ Lance and I entered the school together as usual, but this time I was pulled away by Sam. Yes, we were becoming pretty close. I noticed some changes in the school surrounding, and also spotted some people putting up decorations around the school. They were posters stacked on the walls of the hallway. "What's up with all this posters and decorations?." I asked Sam as we walked to calculus a.k.a Mrs Shannon's boring class. "Oh!, Halloween is on friday, we always host Halloween parties at twilight, it's a thing to you know celebrate..." She told me.
