Levi helpfully supplies and she turns watery eyes towards him. “My birthday is next week.” She sobs, looking at me just in time for me to see her tears start to fall. “I thought you'd take me out somewhere to celebrate.” “This is what I'm talking about. What you want from me, I'm not going to give you.” Any normal guy would feel guilty for this, but I can't wait to get the conversation over and done with, so I mindlink Naomi and tell her to come into the hallway. “I'm happy to allow you to visit a few nearby packs after your birthday if you don't meet your Mate here.”

Natalia was forever grateful to Louise and took him as the little brother she never had. "Hey, why aren't you drinking your c... Wait a minute!" Becky gushed and stared at Naomi in disbelief. "You...you're...." She stuttered and Naomi helped her finish by nodding. "Oh my God, I'm so happy for you!" She squealed and hugged her. The rest bubbled out their congratulations. Naomi gratefully smiled but it clearly didn't reach her eyes. Elva paused and took a good look at her. "He doesn't know, does he?" She silently observed.

Daykan said quickly before Naomi could pick up her plate. “Thank youuuu. I really need to get ready and leave. Today is Sharon’s birthday. We’re having a little celebration for her at the clinic.” “That sounds great. Wish her a happy birthday for me.” Daykan said cheerfully. “I sure will.” Naomi turned to Zekell. “Zeke, it was nice meeting you. I can’t wait till the next time.” “The pleasure was all mine.” Zekell responded with a little bow. Naomi stood up, gave Daykan a peck and began walking towards the bedroom.

She looked to Ethan for help, then froze when she saw the mild irritation in his face. Flustered, she stammered. “My name is Naomi Lang. I performed at the Big Hearts Foundation event in Belport two months ago. I introduced myself to you,” she explained, but shame flooded her. “Rory Lang’s daughter?” The other man, Minister Matthew Jacobs, Minister of Health, beamed, and Naomi relaxed immediately, and her smile widened. “Yes. I’m also a close friend of the Grants,” she explained, her confidence returning in full. “I’m in town for an event happening at month-end. You should come.”

And when we all sat on the bench outside the mall with ice cream in hand, Tessa suddenly asked, “So… when’s your birthday?” I hesitated. “Uh... tomorrow.” They both froze. Naomi nearly dropped her cone. “*Tomorrow?!!” They both screamed. Tessa blinked. “Wait — the day of the triplets’ coronation-slash-graduation bonanza?” I nodded, sheepishly at the twins while licking my ice cream. “Daphne Hathaway,” Naomi said like I had committed a crime. “You mean to tell us your birthday is tomorrow and you didn’t say anything?”

When I brought Gabe here, Bob said that his wife was out of town for a few weeks at some sort of symposium or business thing. I quickly get dressed and meet Gabe and Christine in the kitchen. The affection in his eyes was so clear that, for a moment, I almost believed that I was his entire world. I lowered my head, trying to hide the bitterness rising in my chest. ‘Elijah, this is the last chance I’m giving you. I hope you don’t disappoint me.’ Just as my resolve softened, I received a message from Naomi Cook that very night. Along with it was a photo of her celebrating her birthday with Elijah and Kai. In the picture, Naomi held up two gift boxes with the Cartier logo, smiling brightly. Her message was smug and provocative. [You’re still not leaving? Your husband and son both like me more. How do you still have the nerve to hold on to the donna position?]

I giggled, already shouting from the room, “Let her in! She’s harmless—just a loudmouth!” The guards grumbled, but the door opened. Seconds later, Naomi burst into the spa, her sunglasses pushed to the top of her head. Her curls were long and messy. “Girl.” She gasped when she saw me. “LOOK at you. You’re glowing! You look like you’ve been dipped in honey and whispered sweet nothings by angels!” I laughed as she ran up to me, flinging herself into a hug. “You’re not even a bride yet and you’re already giving 'mafia wife on a yacht' energy. I’m gonna be your best woman finally! I’ve been manifesting this!”

How did he know that it’s my birthday today? “Shouldn’t you guys have a celebration feast prepared?” he asked again, in the same tone, but with a bit of anger in his tone. “Hahahahaha…. You won’t believe it, but she hasn’t celebrated her birthday for years.” Naomi spoke this time with nervous laughter in the beginning.

Naomi carried Jack and left without looking back, leaving Anna with a blue face. "I won't let you get cocky!" Anna exclaimed as she glared at Naomi leaving.
