Happy Birthday Naomi Novels & Stories

Mustering all her courage and with tear stains still fresh on her face, she asked, "Mr. James, the day after tomorrow is my birthday. Can you celebrate it with me? Just this once, please." Naomi turned her head, unable to bear the sight of the scene before her. James remained silent as Celeste looked up expectantly, waiting for his answer.

Naomi gives me a sympathetic smile, then walks past me to the stairs. Naomi means no harm. Though she did kind of ruin my mood, she speaks the truth. There’s still a world of people who will have their eyes on me and Ethan the moment they find out. And we all know how the world treats non-celebrity partners of celebrities. Sighing, I take a quick photo of the flowers and then send it to Ethan. KEIRA PATEL [8:16 AM] [photo attached] Thank you for the flowers. They’re very beautiful.

He recommended me to Naomi, and I didn't want to disappoint him because, according to Naomi, he bragged about me being the best designer ever. "I'm glad you like it, Naomi," I said with a smile. "I don't just like it. I love it! You are the best," she said, giving me a high thumb-up, and I was so proud of myself. "Thanks, Naomi." She nodded her head, dipped her hand into her handbag, and brought out an invitation card, handing it to me. "What is this for?" I asked, wondering what it could be. "It's an invitation card to my birthday. You should come," she said with a smile.

By this time I'm drunk and I'm slurring my words. " Hey." Lucky smiles at me. " Hi." " I didn't get your name earlier today." " Oh… I'm…" fuck, what's my name again? " Naomi. Her name's Naomi." Bianca answers giggling. " Yeah. I'm Naomi." I say, smiling. " Nice to meet you. I'm Lucky." " Yeah. Lucky to meet you too." I tell him. He chuckles. " You wanna go home girls? I can drop you off, Naomi. You're a little…" Lucky says but I cut him off.

"You know why I married you. You saved my life." "And you have spent five years trying to pay off the debt," Naomi said softly. "I used to think gratitude could grow into something else, if I was just patient enough. But gratitude is just another kind of ledger, isn't it? And you've been looking for a way to balance the books and close my account for months."

I couldn't stop myself from asking. “So much for wanting to make things alright with Naomi.” She snorted. “Her birthday is on Saturday, Scott is taking her on a cruise to Bora Bora for the weekend.” She added.

The lighting is dim already, and the energy shifts, making almost everyone stop and stare at the two redheaded bombshells that just walked in. “Naomi and Nicole!” I exclaim, getting up so fast I almost trip over beard-guy. “What are you guys doing here?” “We came to see you, dummy,” Naomi says dryly. “And it’s our half-birthday. We’re going out tonight and taking you with.” “You celebrate your half-birthday?” Eliza looks Naomi up and down and then checks out Nicole. They’re twins but aren’t identical. “Why not?” Naomi sinks into a chair across from Eliza and grins. “I’ll take any excuse to celebrate how awesome I am.”

NAOMI "What celebration?!" I asked, facing Dylan. He frowned in return. "It's Hayden and Hazel's birthday today." He replied. My face was void of any emotions, but beneath I was dumbstruck. Do they celebrate Hazel's birthday?? But it's Nadia's death day!! Before I could say anything, Harold butted in by clearing his throat. "It's not like a grand party.. it's just like cutting a cake and wishing them with a gift.. that's it." Harold said.

Sadness, because her indifference toward Vivian carried over, a little, to how she seemed to feel about the rest of them too. Nobody wanted to be the one to break the warm mood of the evening, though, not with the family finally together. Led by the old man, everyone presented their gifts and well-wishes. Holding an armful of genuinely valuable presents, Naomi felt oddly disconnected from the moment. After marrying Ethan, only Leo and Lily had ever remembered her birthday. "Thank you, Grandpa. Thank you, Marcus, Derek, Nathan." Lily led the room in an enthusiastic rendition of the birthday song.

“There’s no other Marco and Marcus Ledesma. I’m the man you’re talking about, even if I don’t remember. By the way, they weren’t home, so I presumed they were here.” “They’re with Naomi’s parents. They’re preparing for her birthday. Looking for a good venue.” “Birthday?” “Yes, next month. And she’s on leave because she said she can’t focus otherwise. She’ll be back after Eana’s birthday.” Marcus nodded. “Thanks. What’s your name again?” “Aliyah,” she replied. He nodded and stayed silent as she walked away. He didn’t know where to go next. He didn’t want to go to the office because, like Naomi, he couldn’t focus.
