Is she the Moon Queen reincarnated?” Harley opened his mouth to say something but then he closed it, unsure of what to say exactly. I could tell he was uncomfortable with this topic, and I couldn’t blame him. It was about me and they were acting like I wasn’t even there.

“Erik, those, uh, those brownies are, uh...special.” Harley starts to giggle in my arms, and it suddenly dawns on me. “Harley, were those pot brownies?” She nods. “Serves you right for eating other people’s food, thief.” “That’s what you came here to get? Pot brownies?” She nods. “Harley, did you already have some.” She continues to nod. “Yeah. I might have made these a little stronger than usual, it doesn’t normally come on this quick. Scarlett My tears had dried, but a different storm began to stir inside me. I looked down at Harley’s hands again, still faintly warm from where they had held mine. Healing. That was her gift. “His secretary says he’s busy coordinating the security for the Ironfang Games. He’s already looking for a new supplier.” I massaged my temples, the silver light of the moon reflecting off the empty drafting table. “He’s not just an Enforcer, Harper. He’s a husband. Find out what Regina Hale wants. If I can’t get to the Alpha, I’ll get to the Luna.” An hour later, Harper returned with a smirk that held a hint of her old street-wolf grit. “Regina Hale has been hunting for the ‘First Shift’ pendant—a relic from the fallen Silvermoon Pack. It was auctioned off to a private collector last week.”

Harley seemed to heave in relief before she started speaking, “I know what I did was wrong, and spies are normally killed. But because of Diana's previous contributions to the pack and for the sake of the information I am about to give, I plead for you to let us go, and we will never appear in the Moonshine pack again.” Just as I was about to scoff at her rejection, she added another statement that made me pause. With gritted teeth, Harley said, “I am willing to take the severing powder as well.” Hearing that, not just me, but everybody else in the hall was pushed into a state of extreme shock.
