This story will back up in time to show you how Maeve lost her parents and how she came to work for Beta Trevor and Gwen. As with ETP, there will be some crossover with times and events from Shattered Bonds as Spellbound will cover the war from the witch's side.

The guards who had rushed in froze where they stood. Confused by their reactions, I looked down at myself. Blood was dripping from my wrist where his nails had scratched through my skin. But it wasn’t the blood that stunned everyone into silence. It was the color as it was Purple. My heart stopped because it was a crime. An abomination. The worst halfblood to be. Right before him, blood oozed down the hall floor, creating a small puddle. What he thought to be an invisible barrier flickered repeatedly, showing his beloved's bloody image. The other person by the alter also flickered, showing Fredrick. The entire hall began to flicker, showing him images of Darklings and the harmonious hall.

As long as the Princess’s mate lives, you do not stand a chance, and you will die.” My arm raised and sent a discharge of deadly magic his way. Osprey evaded it; however, when he stood back up, his eyes were white, the same as mine. He parried the attack with one of his own, surprising both the entity inside of me and myself. “Impossible. There is no other half-blood left in this world. The last one was killed hundreds of years ago by the Faiths.”

She only hoped they would be able to walk away in the wretched arena without a single scratch – she truly hoped. “I GIVE YOU the Nether World’s prince, heir to the Prideful Territory and the only offspring of our demon king Lucifer the Prideful, Damon the Prideful!” The plump goblin merchant announced over the podium as soon as he saw the silhouette of the Halfling prince appeared. His thin chapped lips crack a full-blown grin when his eyes met with a pair of lilac orbs from the lower bleachers. The grin on his lips widened when he watched the agonizing footsteps of the Halfling prince towards the center of the arena.

Alex inquired, but his question was met with silence. As the mysterious potion coursed through Alex's veins, unease washed over him. His vision blurred, and he felt a sudden surge of power and vitality, but at the same time, an unsettling darkness crept into his mind. The room seemed to distort, and he struggled to maintain his balance as he gripped the table for support. Azaroth observed him closely, a sinister smile playing on his lips. "Enjoying the taste of power, are you, halfling?" he taunted. "Remember, there's a price to pay for meddling with forces beyond your comprehension."

Kingsley's mouth was twisted in a grimace as he muttered underneath his breath, an incantation in a language so ancient only the gods knew what was said. They pleaded for their lives as they continued to rise higher above the room. Kingsley's face was now emotionless as he stared at three of his older brothers, begging to be released. For a moment, his black eyes gazed up at the group hovering in the air. With a small flick of his wrist, the magic wrenched the princes and their wives in half, their blood painting the ceiling a vivid red. Only August and Gwendolyn were spared; Kingsley had thrown them to the other side of the room.

"Live, pumpkin. Do what I could not. Take the inheritance that clears tomorrow. Use the McKinnley gold and the Devonshire blood to burn Asmodeus out of our woods. End the rot." He leaned forward, kissing her brow. "And learn to love, pumpkin. Don't be a ghost in your own life. The Blackwood prince... he is the other half of your storm. Don't run from the lightning." He began to fade, the white lilies turning back into the dark velvet of Killian’s bedroom. "We'll see you one day, love. But not today. Go home."
