POV: Zara Moon The old book burst into flames in my hands. I screamed and dropped it, watching ages of magical knowledge turn to ash on the library floor. The smell of burned paper filled the air as I hurriedly tried to stamp out the fire. "What did you do?" Celeste rushed over, her face frightened. "That was the only copy of the Shadowmere Chronicles!" "I don't know!" I was close to tears. "I was just reading about blue fire magic, and suddenly it just—"

I screamed. He flicked his fingers. Fire erupted. The chamber became an inferno. The Oracle screamed as the flames consumed the vines around her. The smell of burning roots and magic filled the air. Lila coughed violently beside me. “Lily—can’t—breathe—” I dragged myself across the floor, reaching for her. My mana was gone; my vision blurred. I crawled toward the Oracle, who was kneeling amid the flames, her robes turning to ash. “Please—no!” I cried. “You can still escape!”

“You’re doing it, Aurora. Now, take that flame and direct it outward. Focus on something in front of you. Let the fire flow into it, control it, don’t let it burn everything down.” I opened my eyes, locking my gaze on a nearby stone. I could feel the heat rising in my chest again, but this time, I didn’t resist it. I channeled the fire into my hands, slowly, carefully. The warmth spread across my skin, and I focused it on the stone. The stone began to glow faintly, the heat warping the air around it. I could feel the fire inside me, a wild beast, but it was mine to command now.

Then I felt someone else's eyes on me, but when I turned around, it felt like no one was there. My hands trembled as I dipped the chalice into the flame, but instead of simply catching fire as I had read in the lore book, the flame flared up, not outwards, but towards me. White hot tendrils lashed upward, curling like they wanted to pull me into their fiery embrace. Whispers surged through the hall. A few students gasped. The chalice turned molten-hot in my palm, but I didn't let go.

The flames erupted and swallowed the book- the last hope that we had- burning it away. I watched in helplessly and in horror as the last pages of the book was burned and turned into ashes. The fire devoured every secret, help or solution we had to deafening Coral and getting Valerie back, now we really had no way to destroying the witches.

The Ghostwriter looked up at the white line high above, smiling sadly. “I didn’t write the title of Chapter 100,” he said. “Nobody did. The Author left it blank on purpose. She said only the characters could decide what the final page is called.” Suddenly, the giant Eye swung its red light toward the book. “Found you,” the machine voice hissed. The book started burning at the edges. “Listen!” the Ghostwriter yelled over the crackling flames. “I can send you to the 100th chapter now. But there’s a catch. To get there, you have to skip Chapters 61 to 99.”

Marked with symbols I didn’t fully understand. I pulled it out. Carefully. Opened it. The pages were filled with text. Dense. Layered. But one section— One section stood out. A heading. Clear. Deliberate. *Breaking the Curse.* My heart began to race. My fingers moved faster now. Turning the pages. Scanning the words. Trying to make sense of it. There— A passage. A spell. Instructions.
