Horrell didn’t look convinced. Not even a little. He leaned forward, elbows on the table, sharp eyes boring into mine. “Protection, hmm? And how exactly do you protect, child? Are you saying your magic is defensive? Then show us. Defend this table. Defend yourself. Something small. Something entertaining. The crowd would appreciate it.”
