"Kira . . . come here. Please?" Kira looked confused, but crawled away from Arthur towards her vampire mistress. Shamira pulled her close and cradled her like she was being cradled by Clara. Kira was held from behind with Shamira looking over her shoulder. "Arthur, why don't you join us?" she asked.

Kando said knowing fully well that calling Kira by her name without her title would anger her. Instead of feeling angry Kira laughed out a little before stopping. "Seriously Kando we are prisoners here and my title does not mean anything to me now. So try that again when we are in Kudarma," Kira said with amusement and when Kando didn't reply back she slowly drifted off to sleep. The show she and Kando had put on had exhausted her and she needed to rest. She just has this feeling that she would be seeing much of the owner of the mismatched eyes. ***********

Just as she reached for the handle— “Aria.” Kira’s voice stopped her. Aria slowly turned around. Kira stood a few steps away from her, her hands folded across her chest, her eyes shooting lasers at her. “You might think everything is going well for you right now,” Kira said quietly. “You might think you’ve won.” Aria leaned casually against her door, it wasn't the first time she's heard the words from Kira and she was getting bored of it already. Kira stepped closer. “But don’t get too comfortable,” she continued. “Because I’ll take everything from you when you least expect it.” Her lips curled slightly.

But Kira has enough challenges to deal with, let alone trying to keep remembering to put contacts in on a daily basis and to pretend she’s not different from everybody else. “What kind of issue?” Mistra repeats, more urgently. “Mint.” I respond flatly. At once, Mistra recoils, as if she too carries the genetic allergy to the plant. “Oh, cut the bullshit,” I hiss at her. “Kira is fine. Despite everything she kept her cool and is now healing smoothly. She administered her own epi-pen injection and is recovering well.” Mark makes a small noise on the other side of the limo, but I give him a glare, daring him to correct me.

I finish speaking and grab Nora to keep her right back behind me, right where she was. Kira looks like she is about to go up in flames. Her eyes are burning and doing that funny color change again, but she is holding it back. “Watch. Your. Mouth.” she speaks out each word like she is spreading slow poison. “You may think you're standing here before me playing tough girl, but deep down, you’re weak. You don’t have a pack. And you sure as hell don’t have Raelin. You are nothing, you hear me? Absolutely nothing and fucking worthless.”

Ethan’s hand flew to my arm, sensing my instant panic. But a headlight appeared almost instantly, sitting atop an engine revving loudly cruising easily towards us, drawing closer. It pulled up in front of the curb where we stood, next to Ethan’s own motorcycle that lay dormant in it’s parking space. I exhaled, more startled than I cared to admit. Kira propped the kickstand and pulled off her helmet, shaking her silvery waves loose. She grinned, looking down at her brand new motorcycle. “Anyone need a ride?” **

Kira stood over me in a protective stance, growling. Drake came at her, roaring like a demon. She held her stance, trying to fend him off. He sent her flying. “You are no match for me, Kira. Give it up.” He gripped my ankles and I felt myself being drawn backwards. My hands reached for anything to grab onto, grasped only air.

Tahila's body slammed into the ground, dirt kicked up around her as she skidded to a halt. Kira got up slowly, placing one hand firmly on the ground before pushing herself up to her knees. Her other hand followed, steadying herself as she rose. Soon, her posture was straightened, her shoulders back and her chin lifted. "Go, Luna!" Kira heard someone yell, their voice breaking through the noise of pack members talking, gasping, murmuring and so on. Another gasped, "This has got to be the best fight ever!" The shock and amazement rippled through the crowd, with many staring in disbelief. They had all thought that Tahila was going to be the winner but seeing Kira stand<

“You lay a f*cking hand on me, and I can guarantee you’ll have that entire arm chopped off and turned into food for the dogs!” Kira’s intimidation tactic was well-practiced. She had the look, the force in her bearing, and the tattoos. But Javier answered her with a question that seemed almost random and non-sequitur. “How are you so sure that he won’t feed me to something nobler? I don’t know, maybe a lion?”

"Eat with me, Kira.” "No Luna, it is not allowed." She stepped backward. “I will be right here waiting to clear the dishes.” She gave Kiara a bow. "So you will remain standing?" Kira shook her head positively. "Oh no! Please I don't want that! You are not a slave!” Kiara said in a slightly raised tone. "No, I am a slave to you." Kira countered. Kiara frowned at her response. "No, I am a human like you so I am asking you to at least sit down if you won’t eat with me.”
