The background sound from the TV filled the empty space and made her feel less fidgety. Ping. A message dropped, Alina was being transferred to Mexico for her pending detective case. “It can't be a coincidence.” she thought. This was her life now. Alina the Assassin. Life in the underground was hell when she first joined seven years ago. Trainings were even more brutal. But the one thing that fueled her was the burning thirst for revenge, to do that she had to survive and the only way for her to survive was to join the crime family.

I couldn't guess the reason but the thought of me not being safe made me want to escape and hide. “What? Why did you stop?” Harvey asked, with concern so I forced myself to smile at him. “Nothing, I hope we will leave this place immediately. I'm hoping I will still be alive the next day.” I mumbled those words, making Harvey's face turn dark before he stood up and prepared himself for the battle. “Ashianna, you always need to trust me. I will do anything to help you, rescue you whatever happens.” Harvey uttered with dedication. I inhaled before I noticed that they were gone. I didn't know how they did it but I was confused because we didn't hear most of their footsteps. They were paid assass

Sophie POV. It has been a week since I was rescued by Harry and the club. I am not as sore as I was. I was banged up, but still alive. I’m living in the clubhouse now. I didn’t want to go back to my apartment and Harry wasn’t going to let me, anyway. I learnt that Harry killed my dad. I felt nothing when he told me. Apparently, my dad was trying to bash my skull in with a broken branch. Harry saw red and shot him.

Her breathing had gone more unstable bringing more fear to my heart. I slowly stepped away from the guards and moved towards her. She looked almost dead. Bringing my hands up to my lips, ‘I did the only thing I could think of’ I cut deep into my flesh and opened her mouth. Squeezing my palm together, I slowly pumped the blood into her lips and watched her slowly sipped it. I smiled happily as color returned to her face and the whitish webs slowly disappeared. I growled angrily at the fact that someone had been using dark magic. Which means, if Mark is the assassin, that means he has an accomplice who is involved in black magic.

As Ishir shifts back to his human form, I help him sit up and Cedric gives him some water. When he relaxes and I see his body begin to heal itself, I look at him. “Did you see the person? Did you see the assassin?” I snarl. If they went after Ishir, they are dead. I'll kill them. He looks at me, sadness in his eyes. “It’s Zephyr, Avani. She’s the assassin.” The end. This story will continue in Book 3: The Assassin coming late May, early June.

Speaking of this, a sweet smile surfaced on Draco Summers’s face. Tyr propped his chin up with his hand and said thoughtfully, “Dad, those assassins wouldn’t have been arranged by yourself, would they? You do it intending to put on a good show of a hero saving the beauty?”

Hyce defended. "So you know the story?" McCall said shockingly. Hyce kept quiet. "The fact that she changed doesn't change the fact that she was an assassin, and that Banks is her son! A student died some hours ago and she was obsessed with him, who knows if he did the job!" McCall said. "Dad!" Hyce snapped. "End your friendship with him" the man said, and Hyce smiled, going closer. "NO" he said to his face, walking out straight.

“But we are what was left behind.” One of the others a tall, eyeless man whose skin shimmered like broken glass spoke in a voice that echoed with dozens of tones. “You killed the Quill.” “I did.” “You shattered the pen,” said a girl with birds instead of hair. “I had to.” “And now,” whispered the assassin twins in perfect harmony, “the stories must write themselves.” Ashen stepped closer, page extended. “Give me a name.” “What?” “A real one,” she said. “Not Ashen. That was your placeholder. Give me something meant to last.”

“I gave birth to you. So when I tell you to do something. You do it. And that asshole… for laying his filthy hands on you, he got what he deserved. He's lucky he's not even ten feet under by now! How dare he?” “W-what did you… do to Arthur?” Ana asked in a trembling voice, tears still trickling down. “What did you di to him?” Harry stretched out his hand, “Give me your phone.” “Answer me! Where's… Arthur?” “I said, give me your phone!” Harry snarled, “Don't make me repeat myself again.” With shaky hands, she reached for her phone and handed it to him. He snatched it away from her and smashed it on the floor, breaking it into pieces, making everyone jump out of their skin.

We locked the dungeon’s door and walked back toward the bedroom, making sure to walk in the shadows as we did, careful not to be seen. We entered the bedroom and I couldn’t help but let out a sigh of relief when we did, wrapping my arms around Iris and pulling her in for a hug. The two of us were yet to grieve over who was once the best assassin of her time. She was known for her strength, power, and purity. The idea of her betraying the way she did would have never occurred to my mind had we not lived through it, and seeing that she tried hitting two birds with one stone, and that one of those birds was Iris and I didn’t come as pleasing to me.
