Shattered Vows, Silent Fire

Shattered Vows, Silent Fire

“Then where?” Riven crouched beside him, pulling a scroll from his satchel—old, tattered, marked with seals of both witch and wolf. “You said she shimmered. That she lit up like the stars. That’s not death magic. That’s Veilcraft.” Kael frowned. “Veilcraft was banned centuries ago.” Riven shrugged. “So were half the things keeping her alive.” Kael took the scroll. The symbols blurred before him—ancient glyphs no Alpha was ever meant to touch. “You can read this?”

The veil

The veil

She approached the small kitchen in surprise, where a smiling Arthur welcomed her with a cup of the exquisite beverage, which is why she stared at him strangely. “You, making coffee?” “So you can see that I am a good apprentice,” he smiled, showing his perfect row of teeth. She watched him like a fool and the memories of that delicious kiss flooded her mind. But thanks to the veil covering her face, he didn't notice her blush. “I was investigating an exit that will take you to the main road, from there you can take the destination you want,” he commented as she was examined by his beautiful brown gaze, which at that moment was covered by a hint of sadness; although Arthur wanted to return to

ARANJO

ARANJO

said the waiter, pointing to the very end of the room along the corridor. Aranjo ran and didn't care about anything else, she just wanted to make sure Ara was okay. Halley hides behind one of the pillars of the corridor and using her magical powers makes the straps of Aranjo's veil break. Aranjo paused briefly from his run and picked up the black veil that had fallen on the floor. Aranjo only grasped the veil because the straps had broken, so it could no longer be used. And Aranjo doesn't need a veil to meet Ara.

Beyond The Veil

Beyond The Veil

And yet, he had no choice but to play along. The ceremony dragged on, with them exchanging reluctant “I do’s” much to Benedict and Dorothea’s relief. When the officiant instructed Jaxon to lift the veil, his heart slowed. The moment of truth. Jaxon’s hands were steady as he reached for the delicate fabric. A hush descended over the room as if the very walls were holding their breath. He lifted the veil, the silk whispering against his fingers, and revealed— Her. Her. Kallista Jones.

BLOOD AND MOONLIGHT

BLOOD AND MOONLIGHT

“A story my mother used to sing to me. About a vampire, a dragon, and a werewolf who entered the Veil to retrieve their lost king’s soul. They sought the guidance of the great wizard Merlin to save him from corruption in the Dark Realm.” He began to hum—low at first, almost reverently. “Both of you,” he said softly, “half-shift. Place your arms in my hands.” Kiran and I obeyed, our forms shifting just enough to channel our essence. Tharros’ voice rose in a rhythmic chant, the ballad building in strength. Then, with a roar of wind and a blinding white light, the world spun around us. The sound of the Veil shattered into silence. When the light faded, I opened my eyes—inside the Veil.

Sacrifice Of The Heart

Sacrifice Of The Heart

She sat before him, her face hidden behind a silver veil, her hands resting over the great scrying pool that shimmered with unseen visions. “You have come for answers,” she murmured, her voice as ancient as the stones around them. Vesper’s jaw tightened. “Tell me where she is.” The Oracle tilted her head. “You already know.” The words sent a jolt through his chest. He clenched his fists. “The Veil.” The Oracle nodded. “It has taken her.” Vesper felt his blood run cold. The Veil was not of this world. It was a place of the lost, the forgotten. A realm where no living soul had ever returned.

Moonbound Heart Saga: Shadowed Veil (Book Two)

Moonbound Heart Saga: Shadowed Veil (Book Two)

“Okay. So you know how the Moon — the real Moon, not the thing we talk to when we shift — has phases? Waxing, full, waning, dark? It’s not just poetry. Old lore says the magic across the Veil has cycles too, like tides. Times when the barrier holds strong, and times when it thins. Times when it listens. Times when it hungers.” Her fingertips hovered over an inked diagram: a circle, blacked out, surrounded by jagged lines like fractures. “The Hollow King is what fills the Veil when it goes hollow. The silence. The empty. He’s the thing that moves in the wake of a devouring. He doesn’t get called down like Jade. He seeps in when something already broke.” Baylee felt something cold run through

Claimed By My Alpha Bully

"I'm aware of the risks. But I need this potion, for reasons that are my own." The witch's eyes seemed to bore into Clara's soul, as if assessing the truth behind her words. After a pregnant pause, she spoke again. "Very well. I can provide you with the recipe for the Enchanted Veil potion. It can make a man fall deeply in love and blur his memories of the past."

I enjoy how the author portrays the female lead with a different persona. In werewolf novels, the female lead is typically innocent and powerless, but the author opted to create an unconventional FL character, someone bold and fearless. It's absolutely adorable!

Intriguing, I have read lots of wolf stories abd none has gotten my attention like this book has. It is funny and captivating, especially the "tasteless strawberry line in the book." I will keep reading, I recommend to everyone looking for something different ...

Becoming Luna

But I also didn’t ignore the only lead I had. “If I send men into the Veil,” I said slowly, “and it is nothing but a story, I weaken my defenses for nothing.” “If you do nothing,” she countered, “your warriors suffer longer than they need to.” I stepped away, pacing once across the small room. This was not how I imagined today unfolding….An unknown force testing my borders, magic without a signature. A mythical forest now suddenly relevant? “Why the Veil?” I asked finally. “Because,” she said, “if this magic feels unfamiliar… it may not have originated from any coven we know… and that's the only thing that can possibly soothe their pain.. if not they may die from it”
