“Let’s not pretend that you don’t know why I am here,” Charlie said, hitching his trousers at the knee as he sat at the desk. “We’re not stupid, Heath. Aislen Carter’s in Havermouth, and someone is,” he withdrew a sheet of paper from his breast pocket and before he even unfolded it, Heath knew what it would say. “Stirring up trouble.”
Heath smirked and returned to his seat. Not the interruption that he was expecting, perhaps the goddess had been with Cameron after all, and the lucky bastard had gotten away with it. “You’re only upset to find yourself the subject of local gossip, Pastor Gale.”
