The next day, the observatory's official social account announced that Lucas had discovered a new star, and he had named it "S" Countless comments flooded Serena's post from the previous day. "Wow, it's true. That's pretty impressive, Serena!" "Did Professor Thorne see your post and name it for you on purpose?" Just then, Lucas walked through the door. "Wilma, did you see? I named the star 'S.' It stands for 'seven' in light of our anniversary." I looked up at him coldly. "Then what's going on with your assistant? That's not what she said in her post."

She whispers and I nod. At least they won’t be in danger here. “Okay, let’s get this connection broken. The sooner we get things done, the sooner this can all finally be over.” Hazel says and everybody nods. We all stand in the living room of Liam’s house, while Hazel starts setting up around me. Candles at each point of a star she has placed on the ground, ingredients set up around me, that I’m not even sure I want to know what they are. I saw bones at one point and started looking away.

In war, distraction is death. But my own distraction is elsewhere. Hazel. She’s on the far side of the ring, working drills with a partner, sweat slicking her skin, hair tied back in a rough knot that leaves strands clinging to her cheeks. She moves with an intensity that would be reckless if it weren’t so precise, every strike sharp, every pivot grounded. She’s not a recruit anymore. She’s earned her place among my warriors. She moves like a wolf ready to tear out throats.

"Meeting starts now." Blaze said to his fellow pack members to start the meeting, he has only invited a few members, his gamma Ryan, Klay, Zach, Max (Epsilon) and Alessandro who is his cousin and the Zeta. "We should maybe hold a party so that you can reveal the truth in front of everyone?" Jake suggested, he was the brain in this team. "I agree with Jake and also we have to put a lot more warriors in front of our borders if there is an outbreak." Aless added, he was the force in this team, he had control over every Etas.

We didn't let the darkness win. END OF VOLUME ONE

There was a photograph on top. Hazel, outside a building I recognized immediately. Valentino Enterprises. She was walking out with Reed Ashford beside her, holding a folder against her chest, hair down and dressed sharp. She wasn't looking at the camera. She wasn't even looking at anything in particular. She was just moving forward with this expression on her face that I had never once seen when she was living in my house. She looked certain. Like a woman who knew exactly what she was doing and where she was going. Hazel was now working for the Valentino’s? Of all the companies she could work with she choose our enemies, she choose our biggest rival’s company.
