Stavros - The Cursed Beta (Overpowered Series)

Stavros - The Cursed Beta (Overpowered Series)

Now that she was pushed to a corner, what if she stole my family’s belongings? Hazel sat on a couch near the door, not involving herself in our bickering. Her nature differed from these bitchy females. She was too sweet-natured to fight with anyone. She didn’t step back from standing up for herself, but without fighting. It was a unique quality that endeared Hazel to me. I had met no one like her so far. “You’re the meanest wolf I’ve ever met,” complained Crystal, dumping her stuff angrily into the boxes.

The Alpha King’s Gifted Mate

The Alpha King’s Gifted Mate

The rogues and the bears were relentless, but there was something worse—someone close to us, to me, who was playing both sides. I trusted Oswald, I trusted the gifted wolves, but who else could I trust in a place like this? I could feel the eyes of the council on me, feel their suspicion growing as the days passed. I couldn’t just sit by and wait for the kingdom to fall apart from within. So, I did what I had to do. I sent Hazel. Hazel had always been one of my most trusted warriors, not just because of her formidable skills, but because of her sharp mind. If there was a traitor in our midst, she would find them.

The Ex-Wife's Revenge

The Ex-Wife's Revenge

This was the first time that this happened in Moore Estates, and it was fucking done by one of the faces in the company. Hazel was not just my secretary; she was my mom’s representative, too. She was carrying my mother’s name even though her position was not as high as Serena Ambers. She should not have done that. “I will go to work tomorrow, Mr. Moore. I am perfectly fine. It is still hurting but I think I can manage. We have a board meeting tomorrow with our partner groups. You don’t have to worry about me…” she responded, her voice low but sweet. I pressed my lips together as a memory from the past flashed in my mind.

someone said. "How dare she act so arrogant when Miss Taylor is personally offering her a gift?" someone else commented. "The president's true girlfriend is Miss Taylor." Where does Hazel obtain her courage? truly admire her. "The entire company is aware of her activities, in fact. It truly amazes me how a self-centered woman like her can survive in this world." "I've heard that on Yvonne Taylor's first day here, Hazel Stewart made threats. I'm not sure how she mustered the courage to behave in such a way."

A loud husky voice called out. I really love the story. Though there are so many repetitions of sentences&paragraphs and stating the whole lyrics of the songs that almost occupies the whole chapter. Well, it's still worth to read afterall.

His friend smiled at Hazel but soon his next words irked her. “Hazel Warren was asking me who was your first husband?” This. This is what she hates the most about him. It wasn’t the first time he asked her this question. She already told him many times that she doesn’t want to talk about her first husband yet he always reminds her of Cyrus at every chance he gets. He even reminded her of her being a divorcee many times which annoys her the most. “Eric I already told you I don’t want to talk about him.” She said calmly making Eric nod his head.

This is a very dark novel. It's probably the darkest I have ever read. The author warns us, & yes, there are triggers. I am 50% through this book, and it is well written. Has some grammar errors, but the story itself keeps you interested, & it's unique. If you want a dark Mafia book, then read this.

Renting Billionaire Boyfriend

Renting Billionaire Boyfriend

She looked tired, and it seemed like she didn’t go home—being a workaholic, and the CEO of her company is no easy task. “You should have some coffee; you look like a zombie.” “Thanks, is that what you two called me here to say?” Hazel bit back. I didn’t answer and let her settle first. She had some coffee, and she sure looked a bit more human; her eyes no longer looked droopy. “I’m all ears,” Hazel said as she emptied half of her coffee. “Hazel, do you know who is organizing the wedding of Alaric and Davina?”

The Billionaire's Forgotten Night

She glanced at the screen, then answered. “Hello, this is Hazel Wood speaking.” A beat of silence passed, then her face lit up. “Wait, really?” she squeaked, nearly jumping out of her seat. “Oh, thank you — thank you so much!” Annabelle blinked in confusion as Hazel hung up, practically vibrating with excitement. “Hazel? What’s going on?” Hazel grabbed her hands, squeezing them tight. “Babe, you are not going to believe this — I finally found a charitable trust willing to sponsor Alan’s entire treatment!”

Frequently Asked Questions

If you enjoy protagonists who wobble between stubbornness and vulnerability, Hazel Warren is exactly the kind of messy, addictive character I devoured. In the series 'The Hazel Warren Chronicles' she starts off as a sharp-tongued, fiercely private young woman raised in the soot-and-salt of a port town, the kind who keeps her real feelings locked behind a joke. Her family carries an old bloodline mark — a literal and metaphorical inheritance that ties them to memories they didn't live — and Hazel's particular curse (or gift, depending on the book) is that she can touch an object or a person and sift through the memories attached. That makes her both a repository for other people's trauma and a target for anyone who wants to exploit or erase the past.

The arc across the trilogy is what really hooked me. Hazel moves from reactive survival—running cons, hiding from the family's reputation—to actively choosing who she wants to be. There are brilliant, quiet scenes where she reads a stranger's fading memory and learns compassion, and there are brutal confrontations where she has to decide whether justice means vengeance or forgiveness. Relationships are layered: a mentor figure who challenges her, a best friend who refuses to let her isolate, and a romantic thread that never feels like fan service but like two damaged people learning communication.

Beyond plot, what I love is how the author uses Hazel to talk about legacy, consent, and storytelling itself. Objects carrying memories becomes a metaphor for how families pass down pain and how we decide what to keep. By the final book Hazel's choices feel earned — she's scarred, not perfect, but wiser. I'm still thinking about that lighthouse scene at the end of book two and how it flipped my expectations of her, which is the mark of a character that stays with you.
