A heat is no joke this year. Well, it's always like this, but then I'd say the same thing next year. Not knowing what to do in the middle of the night, I grab this adventurous novel, The journey to the Centre of the Earth, and try to make my brain tired so as to finally force my body to do the same. CHAPTER 3: TANGLED IN HEAT AND DARKNESS SELENE’S POV Oh, my good Goddess. The heat enveloping me is so intense that it feels like molten fire is searing through every vein in my body. My back is pressed firmly against the cold wall, the chill doing little to temper the fever raging inside me. My head tips back, eyes rolling upward, as I try to brace myself against the relentless onslaught. I collapsed sideways onto the hard stone floor, my body seizing and violently shaking as the unprotected Heat began to literally cook my brain from the inside out.

But there’s still no winner. “Just a distraction .” it's all I want. “I just need something.” Anything that can take my mind off this unbearable heat. Not to mention that. I frown at the clock. It’s almost noon. But I still haven't seen a single soul. Maids quit all the time, but even then, someone would come. It’s never been this bad before. And it’s only going to get worse. I’m already sticky with sweat. It’s getting hotter.
