Poisonous Flower
As if he could sense my thoughts, Louis murmured with blood dripping from his lips, "I was wrong… Please give me another chance… In our next life… let me love you. Let me love our children, okay?"
His guards arrived in a rush, spotting him among the bodies. They sprinted toward him, herbs in hand, ready to save him.
I pressed a hand over the place where my children had once been and looked at Louis.
"No."
Louis froze, his eyes widening. With the last of his strength, he shoved his guards away, refusing their help.
And as my soul faded into nothing, he turned toward me, eyes wild with grief, and screamed—
"Rena!"
My body felt light and free.
