What a small world. As Elaine Johnson was checking in at the hotel front desk, she happened to bump into Jasper Carter's young mistress —a girl who looked like an innocent college student. She was dressed in a simple white cotton dress, pure and demure, with a shy, sweet smile. "Hello, here's your room key. You'll be staying in the executive suite on the top floor," the receptionist said. "Thank you, miss," the girl replied softly, taking the key. Just then, her phone rang. Elaine overheard her speaking bashfully to the person on the other end: "Mr. Carter, I... I'm already here. When will you be coming?" Her tone was soft, a little nervous, filled with affectionate anticipation. A moment later, Elaine heard her add, "Mhm, I'll wait for you. No rush. Please drive carefully, Mr. Carter." The girl's voice was so sweet and tender, it could have melted anyone's heart. Elaine could not help thinking that her husband had good taste — the girl was young and beautiful, gentle and thoughtful, the kind of woman any man would find hard to resist.

The day before my wedding, I went to the beauty salon for a skincare treatment. After the session, I handed over my membership card at the front desk to pay as usual. But the moment I glanced at the receipt, I frowned. "The balance is wrong. "I topped up this card with 100,000 dollars just last month. I've only used it once. How is there only 2,000 left?" Without missing a beat, the receptionist pulled up the transaction history and turned the monitor toward me. "Why don't you take a closer look yourself? "Your mother comes in three times a week using this card. Last time, she even bought one of our premium luxury skincare gift sets for 60,000 dollars. "The money on the card doesn't magically replenish itself. Of course it's gone." I stared at the endless list of transactions on the screen and stopped arguing with her. Instead, I pulled out my phone and dialed the police. "Hello, I'd like to report fraud. Someone has been using my card without permission. The amount involved exceeds 80,000 dollars."

I noticed Stacy besides him and peering at her hand clutching his arm, it was plausible that she is his girlfriend. Leo already moved on? How could he and that quickly? We just got divorced three days ago and he's already dating someone? "Hi Margaret." He smiled at me. I was so startled I couldn't speak my lips faltered and my eye lashes shook. "Hello?" Stacy spanned her hand towards me. I peeked at her lips which were coated with crimson lipstick, her owl-like eyes, her flawless cheeks and her remarkable nose. She wore a dashing ruddy gown which disclosed her curvaceous hips. She shook my hand, "I am Stacy Leo's fiancée." She smiled with her mouth slightly opened I could plainly see her dazzling angel-white incisors. She's not just a girlfriend. Leo's engaged to her? Unbelievable! Little wonder why he always kept late nights while we were together. And the rumors about him having an affair, they were really true.

Right after I put the invoice of an eighty-thousand-dollar gold necklace into my bag, my Instagram went wild. A woman calling herself “Future In-law” showed a picture of a ring with a diamond the size of a pigeon egg. It was worth two million dollars. I’d like to find her.” The shop attendant shrugged and appeared dismissive. “Sorry, but the security camera broke down today. It’s written clearly on the receipt. You can’t refuse to pay.” Exasperated, I laughed, grabbed the unsigned receipt, and called the police. “Hello, officers. I just got scammed out of two million dollars at a jewelry shop.”

"I've transferred the three hundred-dollar rent to you. Thanks, Samuel." A contact named Misty has sent my husband, Samuel Tucker, a message on WhatsApp. I snatch his phone immediately, only to be stunned by what I see. "Rent?
