As she brought me back to the present, my eyes returned to normal, and she gave me a knowing smile. "How can I, a mortal, be your avatar, Goddess Visha," I sincerely inquired. "Would that not mean I was some kind of incarnation of you? I am human, an often clumsy one, and you are a Goddess." Hecate giggled darkly before sarcastically adding to the conversation that, technically, I am a dead mortal now. The statement caused me and the Goddesses to laugh. "An avatar is a loose term. My eyes rushed through the area and caught the sight of the devil sitting on the chair with his finger intertwined and unreadable expressions.
