Possessive At First Sight
Mom, Joyce, Karen, and a few other distant relatives are still lingering over their coffees, the clinking of mugs a gentle soundtrack to their conversation.
“Here comes the bride dressed all in light.......” Karen sang. “Radiant and lovely, she shines in his sight... Gently, she glides gracefully as a dove. Meeting her bridegroom, her eyes shining with love, Joyce joined in with the rhythmic tapping of her fork against her plate.
I blushed when they all looked at me as I pulled a chair beside Karen and settled myself.
Jane, one maid, gave me a plate and utensils and smiled as I thanked her.
