"For me, it's simple. If you hate it, say no. If you like it, then say yes." My mate peered out of the window, leaving me curious about what was happening in her mind. However, her stare remained as vacant as the first time I saw it. She crossed her arms and commanded, "Just go. Leave my room." I squinted my eyes. Her voice had a chilly tone, but it was clear she didn't intend it to be that way. She told everyone to leave her alone, yet she appeared like the most isolated person in the world, silently yearning for some warmth.

God, her feet have to be hurting now. I finally reach her and hold on to her hand to make her stop walking. “Leave me alone, Ronan.” She says without looking at me and snatching her hand away from my hold. I grab her hand again. “No, no. You know I can’t do that. I can’t leave you alone.” I say. “I want to be alone. I need…I need to be alone.” She mumbles. “I need to think.” She adds and stops walking.

“That’s not what I…” “But it’s what you did,” she said simply. “And the only thing you can do now, the only kindness you have left to offer him, is to leave.” I stared at her, speechless. For a minute, I almost told myself that I didn't hear her properly. That the grief I was experiencing had somehow messed with my senses. But no matter how hard I tried to convince myself it wasn't true, that one word continued to echo loudly in my ears. Leave.

“Leave me alone.” I pushed past her; every muscle in my body was wound too tight. She moved out of my way, eyes dark and full of derision. “If you think he'd do the same thing for you, you don't know Noah Black,” she called after me. I ignored her, focusing on putting one foot in front of the other. I needed to get to where I could think and cry. I needed to be alone.

"Are we really arguing about this?" "You don't get it, do you?" She looked hurt. "You know what? Forget it. Just go and leave me alone." She turned and walked away.

I respected her wish because I also needed to think things through. All she said kept ringing in my head and I needed some time to think about it ,but one thing I knew for sure was that I wronged her and I should apologize for it . She doesn't say anything for a while, only sniffles quietly. "Please leave me alone." Comes her whispered reply, her voice breaking. I close my eyes for a second and turn to face her properly. "Shayla, I'm sorry, I didn't mean for it to come out like that. I just--" "You don't love me. I get it." I bite my lip. "I'm fine, just please... leave me alone." She weeps wretchedly, burying her face into the pillow. I sigh, defeated, and stand up. "Your bed is ready next door. If you need anything, you can shout." She whispers, and I stare at her back for a moment and nod before I walk out of the room, leaving her alone.

I say, trying to hold her again, but she pulls away. Goddamn it. “I know. Just leave me alone,” she deadpans. “You want me to really leave you alone? Look at me and say it, and I’ll leave you.” She turns to me. “Leave me alone.” “Fine.” Fine. I’ll leave her. I don’t care anyway. I turn and leave, going back to my room. I’ll just focus on work, and when she’s finally ready to drop the attitude, I’ll be here.
