I stumbled to the bathroom, splashing cold water on my face. As I patted my skin dry, I caught my reflection in the mirror. There, at the base of my neck, was a mark. It wasn't a purple bruise like a normal hickey. It was a deep, angry red circle with two distinct puncture marks in the center. "Asshole bit me, but who the fuck bites someone like this, it's called a hickey not a wound" I muttered, touching it. “Ouch,” It felt hot and painful as fuck.

Then both he and Helene gasped in horror when they saw her all marked up. "Okay, I can explain that," she rushed to say, lifting both hands to steady them, but Helene was petrified and Adrian's body was already filling with the need to protect a fellow pack member. Shay pulled on her hoodie even more and extended her neck so they could see better, "They're not bites! He didn't bite me, he just sucked on me! Look, they're just hickeys! We did sexual things together, but there were no bites. I swear."

His finger pointed aggressively at the red mark on my neck. I brought my expression under complete control in a fraction of a second, casually brushing his hand off my shoulder. "Oh, that? It's just an itch," I answered flatly, adjusting my blouse collar back into place. "There must have been an ant in the car earlier. I instinctively scratched it until it turned red." "An ant bite?" Alex let out a cynical laugh, his eyes narrowing sharply as he scrutinized my face. "Do you think I'm stupid? An ant bite doesn't leave a mark like that! That is a hickey! Who touched you, huh?!"

I stood before the mirror and noticed there was a dark red mark on my neck which was looking slightly purple. I touched it and felt a jerk in my body. People call it a love bite. I never had one on my skin in my married life. My Mate didn't even mark me and now left a hickey on my skin. What should I consider it then? A hickey or a love bite? What did he want to prove with it that I belong to him? Did he leave it on my skin to show people that I'm claimed by him?

"I wouldn't go near her with someone else's dick." "No," Katherine affirmed, her pulse thundering in her ears like a war drum. He screams in anger, having me flinch away from him almost instantly. "You're such a fucking dirty little slut Amber. The dirtiest slut I've ever met. Who gave you that hickey?!" He presses, looking down at me with disgust. Hickey? "Who gave you that fucking hickey?!" He says, sounding even more angry and fed up than before. What hickey?! Could that guy from the ride here have created some type of mark on me? Fuck, I shouldn't have gotten in that car I should've just walked here.

I struggled against his hold, turning my face away from his, but he simply redirected his assault to my neck. In desperation, I bit down hard on his invading tongue. Adrian jerked back with a curse, his hand flying to his mouth. "You little bitch," he snarled, all pretense of civility gone. Then his gaze fixed on something at the collar of my blouse, and his expression transformed into one of pure rage. "What the fuck is that?" My hand flew instinctively to my neck, where a fading mark still lingered from that night with Theo—a hickey I'd been careful to cover with makeup and high collars at work, but which must have become visible during our struggle.

He took his slow, human time sucking, kissing, and licking every inch of my skin. He got to my biceps, kissing and biting on the muscle. He licked his way back up to my neck and fucked on a position for a while before biting down hard on the skin. "What are you doing?" I asked him in between moans. "Marking you as mine," he replied and bit down hard. He pulled away and stared at the area he had bitten. "Any luck?" I asked, wishing more than ever in this moment that I could get injured just so I could get bruised enough to have Christopher’s mark.

He pulled her head down for a kiss. He was a worse kisser than she remembered. Marty sloppily stuck his tongue into her mouth. He couldn’t do it without getting slobber all over her lips. She couldn’t stand it anymore and pulled away. “I like it when a man kisses my neck,” Jackie said sweetly. Marty smiled. “Ah, I remember. I loved leaving hickeys on you.” Marty attacked her neck like he was Jaws. She remembered the hickeys, too. She had hated it. It had hurt when he sucked on her neck like a vampire. Jackie also had to go to the extremes to hide the hickeys.

"That's obviously a hickey." Sage pulled out a compact mirror and looked at the mark she noticed earlier that morning. "Do you have x-ray vision or something? How do you even spot these things? I've seen other people's hickeys, but they're usually not this small and faint." Tiana looked at Sage as if she had sprouted a second head. "Hickeys do not always have to be big and obvious. A light kiss might only leave a small imprint." Sage suddenly remembered the feeling of someone kissing her neck while she was half-asleep. Could it have been Ian?
