High Lords Meeting #acotar Novels & Stories

The meeting started at exactly ten in the morning. As Ashriel's spoke man, Nathan called the Head of the Families, Nobles, and Lady Kitori and Lady Octavia as the representatives of the Elders. Still, as expected, Amber did not attend and sent the twins as the representative. Every High Member is present except for Oriana and Leon “I suppose everyone is here. Shall we start?” Every ear focused on Nathan attentively. Ashriel silently sat on her golden chair, wearing her face mask, black contact lenses, and black wig, for no one can see her face until she reaches legal age.

Twelve lords sat around the circular table, their voices like the low hum of bees, nervous and droning. My presence severed the noise. Their lips stopped moving. Their breath held. I walked past them, to the head of the table, where Sebastian had once stood, arms wide, lies dripping like honey. I didn’t sit. I signed slowly, deliberately, as Dorian entered. "This meeting belongs to the future," I signed, my hands cutting through the air like blades. "Not to ghosts." One lord—Regar of the southern plains—scoffed under his breath. “A mute giving commands,” he muttered. “Is this what we’ve come to?”

“Now, since we have two new members, including the accused, I am going to go over the procedure for this meeting,” an unfamiliar man announced as he stood in front of them all. Everyone sat around a crescent moon table as the man stood facing them. Behind him was a massive plain oak chair. “Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Cadmus of the Aracar Dragons and our kin serve as an authority of law and unbiased middlemen in these meetings.”

I muttered. He nodded, then, before leaving, he softly said, “They’re meeting tonight. You should come.” I did. But not for politics. For blood. The council chamber felt thick with tension as I stepped in. My boots softly echoed on the marble floor, drawing everyone's attention. Elder Varon, the eldest among them, sat upright at the head of the table, his wrinkled hands gently resting over a scroll. “Alpha Damon,” he began, his voice grave. “We’ve received word of Zac Redmoon’s mobilisation. He claims you’ve taken what is rightfully his. The council demands a resolution before this becomes a massacre.”

“It just slipped my mind, but I guess now that you know, now that Arya is back, I think it is now time for the council of elders to intervene and make a decision as soon as possible. I am not ready for a war between these two packs; innocent bystanders will die, collateral damage will occur, and all that. When are we meeting them?” “You do know that I am already working on that, right? Despite Penelope being summoned by Casandra the other day, they are meeting at the church to discuss the matter at hand. Do you want to join the two witches?” She asked obliviously, and Leo shrugged. “No, thanks, I would rather go to work, but now that it is late, I will just sleep in and go to work tomorrow,

She avoided El-Kharis's gaze, her thoughts clearly elsewhere. Across from them, Gladious, the Demon God of Fire, fidgeted slightly, the flames in his eyes burning with a restrained intensity. Next to him sat Tarius, the Water God, his expression calm but his eyes holding a depth that suggested the weight of ancient wisdom. At the head of the table, Lilith, their leader, sat in silence. Her presence was the most commanding of all, though she had hardly spoken a word. The meeting had been called to discuss the letters the vampires had sent—letters demanding that Esteria be handed over to them. The air crackled with the tension of unspoken disagreements as the Council debated the issue.

He turned the screen toward me. It was a digital scroll, embossed with the silver wolf-and-crown seal of the High King. -TO ALL ALPHAS AND LUNAS OF THE NORTHERN COALITION: The High King, Kael of the Shadow Line, hereby summons you to a mandatory Peace Summit at the Capital Citadel. How do I get her back? The meeting was to be held on neutral grounds, nearly two hours away. The place was enchanted—no flying could breach it, making helicopters useless. The Grand Hall buzzed with activity. Werewolf elders, the vampire council led by Zibor, and humans led by Nathan Gray were already seated. Both leaders approached me immediately. “Alpha King, it is an honor to see you,” Gray said, bowing slightly. Zibor shook my hand but remained proud, aloof. “The witches are still absent. Do you think they’ll even show?” Zibor asked, a sly glint in his gray eyes.

With only a few minor modifications, the Obsidian Knights council ratified the proposed alliance with the Red Lords. Representatives from the Red Lords leadership will join us for dinner tomorrow night to celebrate this historic moment. No doubt Holden Sinclair will be present along with his aging father, his uncle, and two of Sinclair’s younger brothers and their wives.
