I am sure that your parents love you, but if they could see you now, they would be sorely disappointed to find out that the child they had laid their lives down for was only sulking and shedding tears. Brown followed it down the alley, taking a let once the scent got stronger down the bend. “Brown?” Rebekah called behind him. He needed to have a believable lie if he was to get away with this stunt he had just pulled. He couldn’t tell her that the ice cream had been laced with trace amounts of wolfsbane. Not enough to kill a werewolf, but enough to render him weak for a few days.

Ronnie smiled down at her and then back to me, “Looks like you may have some Luna blood in you.” Shocked, I shook my head. A laugh escaped my lips. “Me? A Luna?” I spat out. “No way.” We all laughed a little before another fight broke out across the fire. This time, two of the guys were in a hand-to-hand combat with each other yelling profanities. “And it looks like I’m needed.” Ronnie smiled as he waved a little goodbye to us before breaking up the fight.

I put two and two together and it did not take me any special sign to know that Charlotte was in this room, watching them have sex. “Charlotte. Were you watching these two people have sex? Why were you here?” I asked my Luna but she snubbed me. I flared in anger. I could kick that tablet off her hands. Why could she not acknowledge me? Was I not speaking to her? “Am I not speaking to you? How dare you snub your Alpha?” I roared. “Hey!! My sweetheart is trying to take a nap. You can take that madness elsewhere.” Landon was now in full senior brother mood.

“I don’t cry.” “You don’t do a lot of things.” Lena cleared her throat from the window post. I hadn't realized she was in the room all along. she stepped forward with arms full of herbs and bandages. Her presence was accompanied by a sharp scent of mint and oud, mingled with something raw and earthy. “Our Luna is awake,” she said softly, though her eyes were all business, scanning me with the precision of someone trained to see pain before it’s spoken. “She hit her head,” Rael said, rising. “She was out cold when I found her.”

Closing my eyes, I let my tears roll down my cheek, "Unmark me. And when I come back, mark me again. I'm your Luna, I'm your mate." She said and kissed my tears away, "Let me be stronger for you." Very slowly, I lowered my lip to her mark and softly kissed the skin as I opened my mouth.

I hate that it makes my chest ache. I exhale slowly through my nose. The regret is immediate and bitter. “I’m sorry,” I mutter. My voice cracks on the second word. “It’s not your fault. Just… put it down. I know what to do.” “You should not be alone, Luna,” the one with the wine says. “No one should be by themselves at a time like this.” I swallow past the knot in my throat. “I prefer it. Leave. Please.” The Omega with the bowl sets it carefully on the vanity, then she presses a small glass vial into my hand. “From the healer, Luna,” she whispers. “She says it will help with the pain.”

Turning it so the camera caught the engraved symbol etched into the silver. A spiral. Three slashes. Black Helix. Then he smiled beneath the hood. Just barely visible. “Tell me,” he said softly, “does it still hurt?” The feed cut to black. Luna stared at the dead screen. But inside, rage spread slowly, not explosive, not emotional but controlled. The most dangerous kind. Alexander watched her carefully. “Who is he?” Luna’s voice came out quiet. Sharp enough to draw blood. “I don’t know.” Then, “But I’m going to enjoy finding out.”
