Elena pushed the door open. Liora sat on the edge of her bed, still in the light armor she had worn in the arena. Her nose was swollen, crusted with dried blood, one eye already purpling. She looked up as Elena entered, expression hollow. “Close the door,” Elena said. Liora obeyed without speaking. Elena crossed the room and sat beside her on the bed. For a moment neither woman spoke. “They’re calling her the Luna of Ashes,” Liora said at last, voice flat. “They’re saying she’s… something ancient. Something we can’t fight.”
