I stared at the dark screen of my phone, pretending as if I was busy with something else, waiting for her to go back to sleep.
“Damon…” she called again, her voice finally breaking the silence.
I didn't answer right away, and I didn't look at her, but I stopped moving my thumb aimlessly on the screen.
“Our anniversary is coming up.”
I froze immediately, my hand trembling, my heart pounding against my chest. I slowly raised my head, my eyes locking onto her face, my brows furrowing with scrutiny.
She wore a soft charming smile and chuckled softly.
“Five years,” she said softly, nodding her head. “Can you believe it? It feels like yesterday we were dancing at that little Italian place.”
