When he roared he opened his mouth wide and I put a round in his mouth. He turned around and as he turned I saw a hole in the back of his head. He fell forward, away from us, and I'm sure the barn shook when he hit the ground.

Chapter 33 Hazel’s POV The air in Room 408 tasted like copper and ozone. My vision swam in blurred, sickening streaks of white and crimson. My knees were utterly useless beneath me, scraping uselessly against the cold hardwood. The violent smack across my face had left my head ringing like a shattered bell, and my split lip throbbed with a rhythmic, burning heat. Every shallow breath I dragged into my lungs felt like swallowing glass—a brutal reminder of the ocean water still clogging my chest.

She leaned down and Breathed into him. ​She gave him the "Future-Memory" of the Elder Nora. She gave him the sight of the empty 400th chapter. She gave him the "Friction" of a daughter who refused to let her father become a cliché. ​Kael’s "Void-King" armor began to fracture. The black ink started to boil, turning back into the clear, living water of the Core. ​"The... 401st... chapter..." Kael wheezed, his eyes flickering back to green. "It... hasn't... been... written... yet!"

I stared at the woman that stood above his ashes breathing heavily causing her baby bump to rise and fall. I was stunned and shocked. Entirely uncertain of what to do next. Soon Guards started filling the room and Aden followed right after them. He looked around the room trying to spot his father but when he couldn’t his eyes landed on the heap of dust that laid inches from Scarlets feet. A sense of sadness filled his eyes before he met hers. “So you’ve made your decision then?”

She mused. Stepping back she let her gaze rove over him. Hunter was tied with silver chains that burned his skin. The first few buttons of his grey shirt were opened. His black hair was a ruffled mess but his eyes looked like sweet wine which could drown hundreds of beauties in them. "What's this f*ckin spell you put me under?" Hunter growled in menace, he was a bit dazed. A sweet giggle filtered across the room and his heartbeat quickened at that beautiful smile of hers.
