By Chance, By Fate

Alex
Days had passed since my last attempt to reach out to Liam. Each one bled into the next, and I found myself retreating further into my room. The once-pristine space had become a mess, mirroring the chaos inside my mind. Clothes were strewn across the floor, dishes piled on my desk, and the curtains remained drawn, letting in only slivers of light. My phone lay untouched on the nightstand, the anonymous message I’d received haunting me.
"Luckily for you, that imbecile Liam took the bullet. You should’ve been dead by now. You’re lucky, but your luck won’t save you forever. I’ll strike again, and next time, nobody will help you. You’ll die, Alex."
