None of the workers minded the fact that he didn’t answer them since they were already used to their scary boss behavior. And even if they were slightly displeased by his action, there was no one among them that dared to voice out their thoughts or displeasure for being ignored by Damien. After he sat down on his leather seat in his office , a small knock on the door was heard. A curt response from Damien and the door opened only to reveal Mary walking into the office with a tray of coffee in her hand. Walking beside her was another young man with eye glasses propped on his nose, he was none other than Mr. Hook who had come to pick Damien from the company yesterday.

My hands still shaking, I now hovered over the edges of the wickiup blanket. Damien was across the room, sitting by the hearth, sharpening his blade. Not because he needed to. But he needed something to do with his hands. He’d not said much at all since we found the stasis-locked Jasmine echo, or since we found the Uncut man down in the vault. His body was here, but something of him had gone wandering. I glanced at him again. There were low eyes and a tight jaw. “You haven’t touched your food.” He didn’t respond at first.

I already knew what was coming next, but I was still taken back when Hugo opened his mouth to speak. “Do you have a partner?” he leaned in closer. I cleared my throat. “It doesn’t seem so.” “Would you mind?” he gave a shy smile. Damien glanced at me for a split second, suspicion in his eyes. Hugo didn’t notice that the wolves were listening in. Though he was speaking quietly, to us his voice was loud and clear. I bit my lip and averted my eyes. “Sure.” “Awesome.” He tore a piece of paper from his notebook and wrote something down. “This is my number. Give me a call when you want to meet up.”

“Be quick we are leaving in some minutes.” Damien sighed. “I don’t think I can meet up, maybe I will meet you there.” Hugh nodded. “Cool, and bring your little pet if you want.” His eyes landed on me. It was full of disdain once again . What did I do to this dude? After Hugh left, Damien headed to the bathroom. When he emerged, water dripped from his hair and trailed down his toned body. He pulled on a shirt, but not before I caught myself staring. I quickly looked away, reminding myself who he was—a killer.

6Months Later Now the whole incident is now behind us, Well mostly me My mom and dad had by now travelled to Seattle before the court hearing, Lily got accepted into NYU while Joslin pursued her modeling career with our full support, Nate and Susan are still going strong. As far as i know Damien’s relationship with his dad never got improved, Well some things are meant to be the way it was, and me well i have been handling the workload here. Damien is out of NewYork because he opened a new branch in london, He has been doing so well and i could only get more prouder

“But we’ll… get better.” He inhaled shakily, relief flooding his features. I hid my smirk behind a sip of juice. Hook one placed. Hook two would come easier. After breakfast, Damien hovered again pretending he had things to do in the living room, rearranging books he’d already alphabetized, straightening cushions that didn’t need straightening. Every few minutes his gaze flicked toward me, soft, hopeful, and pathetically breakable. He wanted closeness. He wanted forgiveness. He wanted her.

His gaze turned into a friendly one when I looked back into my face, showing his white bleach teeth in a smile. “You must be good at what you do, Bobbie. We heard this is the best shop in town.” I blushed. “Oh. I… we just do the best we can, Sir.” The old man chuckled, smiling lines showed on his face. “My name is Damien, and this is my son Damon.” I both took their offer for a handshake, the warmth of their hands confused me.
