--- ### The Shadow of the Moon As we walked toward the doors, leaving the warehouse behind, I looked up at the sky one last time. The violet moon was fading, returning to its dull grey color. But as the light died, I saw something moving across its surface. A massive, black shadow. It looked like a hand reaching out to grab the Earth. "What is that?" I asked, pointing upward. The Scavenger woman didn't look up. She kept walking into the snow. "That's the **Collector**," she said. "The machines realized the power spike came from here. They’re sending a 'Maintenance Crew' to fix the leak."

My eyes stared at his face then to the monitor Memories flooded my mind.. our first date, our wedding. All the laughter, the fights, the quiet nights. All leading to this moment. I felt numb, like I was floating above the scene. Zora's voice was muffled, as if she was calling from far away. I couldn't process the words, couldn't move. My world had just shattered, and I was stuck in the wreckage. The pain would come later, but for now, I was frozen, trapped in this moment of loss.

"They seem to know a lot about curses and bloodlines." "Possible. But the Council usually doesn't operate in secret." He pulls up something on his laptop. We decided to step into one of the shops, a bell tinkling as we entered. The interior was cramped and dusty, filled to the brim with all manner of strange objects. Dolls with eerily lifelike eyes stared at us from shelves, while jars of wet specimens lined the walls. “Creepy,” I muttered, picking up a small figurine that seemed to be made of bones. Chris nodded, examining a collection of ‘cursed’ amulets. “Yeah, but kind of fascinating too, don’t you think?”

The noise was so loud it drowned out the shrill beeps of the forklifts taking boxes from racks that were roughly three stories tall, or at least, with the fluorescent bulbs and skylights, they seemed that high. Places like these weren't unfamiliar. I no longer felt uncomfortable with the lack of windows and industrial feel of the facility. Working at the consulting firm, I'd been in my fair share of warehouses and manufacturing facilities, my latest endeavor, a local distribution center, 3 Tier Auto. Mesmerised, I walk inside and Sebastian turns a small light on over a shelf. There are a lot of DVDs. A whole shelf. The shelf is seven feet long and the whole shelf is filled with hundreds of DVDs. These are vintage formatted decades-old horror films. I don't think there are a lot of women who will go gaga over a shelf full of horror movies but my heart dances with joy. I walk to the shelf. He's standing beside it with a big smile on his face. I trace my hand vertically on the DVDs. "Oh, my God!" I exclaim. "Are these real?"

Cole asked. “Horror.” Cole visibly paled. Yup Cole is scared of horror movies. He screams like a little girl every time a ghost appears on the screen. We all laughed out loud but we still watched ‘Anabelle creation’ with Cole screaming now and then. He had his hands over his eyes throughout the movie. He was watching the movie from the gaps of his fingers. When the movie ended it was already past eleven. We climbed the stairs to our rooms with the guys stopping on the second floor and me climbing to the third floor to my room. The door of the room before me was slightly ajar and weird noises were coming out of it.
