The Destiny Triumph

Finally! The exams are over. I am majoring in Aeronautics. Just the project submission in eleven days and I will be one more step near my goals.

I will be finished with college in just eleven days. I can’t explain how happy I am. I always dreamed of being independent. To be able to live on my own, so I can finally move out of my parents’ house.

I already landed myself a job and the pay is good enough. It’s sufficient to start my life on my own. I am planning on renting a flat near my job location. My job is in the same city I am pursuing my degree from. I lived in hostel throughout my college duration.  

The project groups are a group of four each. My group has three boys and myself obviously. They are lazy. I am lazy. We are a perfect team. We find ways to do things without much effort but we do them perfectly and efficiently. I am one hundred sure that we will submit our project in due time.

These guys are an excellent company. Adrian and Cole are the toppers of our class. Evan is also a smart kid. Well smarter than me off course. I am the dumber one in the group. I don’t know on what basis they asked me to be in their team. They would have got anyone, someone more brilliant than me. I am glad they choose me though.

I am an average student. I have no idea how I got the job in the first place either but I am going to try my best to achieve my dreams. That’s the only thing I am good at, working hard.

Hopefully, I will marry a guy someday, have kids and we will grow old together. Quite a simple dream, isn’t it? Well for a girl who never had a proper loving family, it’s the world’s greatest achievement. I just want a happy family that will love me and want me with them, a family to call mine and to belong to.

We got out of the exam hall, cheering out loudly. We planned to go out to eat in the evening as an end off examination celebration and start the remaining project work from tomorrow morning.

We in the sense my group of friends. We are five people to be exact. I am friends with everyone in the class but I am going out with my hostel mates, my besties. I prefer to call them my gang though. They are like a second family to me (like the first one qualifies in the family category).

Rachel and Sheena are my roommates and Dan and Ron live in the room to the left of us. They have a junior as their third roommate. Yes, it is a mix hostel. The only rule is that a girl and boy can’t live in the same room. Either three girls or three boys in a room. We can have movie nights and all. No restrictions there. Awesome right.

We went to eat in the evening as planned and had a movie night afterwards.

We are in the same college but with different majors. Rachel’s major is Civil Engineering. Sheena is majoring in Electronics and Telecommunications. Dan is majoring in chemical engineering and Ron’s major is Mechanical Engineering.

We all have projects due in eleven days and we have to be with our respective groups in the morning, if we actually woke up in the morning after watching movies till 4 am that is.

We all woke up at ten the following day and were in the college by eleven. We had to be here an hour ago. We had breakfast in the college canteen and went our separate ways.

I had a good six hour sleep still I am feeling tired and groggy. The exam time exhaustion must be catching up now. I will go sleep after I am finished here. I don’t think we will be doing much work today anyways.

I entered the class we were supposed to meet, rubbing my eyes to get rid of the sleep.

“Sleepy are we now.” Adrian joked and I heard Cole laugh.

“Yeah. We had a movie night yesterday to celebrate end of exam.” I mumbled sleepily.

I stopped rubbing my eyes and looked up. There were two unknown people in the room. One looked a bit like Cole and the other… well grumpy would be the right word. He has this scowl etched on his face that is even visible from even his side profile. The grumpy one was doing something on his phone. The one who looked like Cole has the same brown hair as him. They must be brothers I think.

The grumpy guy is quite handsome though with blonde hair. His hairs are a little curly. I love curly hair on boys. He has a sharp jawline. His skin is tanned a bit. Come to think of it, all of them have tanned skin. I can’t see his eyes from this angle.

Cole must have gauged my confused look.

“This is my older brother Caiden.” He said pointing to the one who looked like Cole “And that is Damien my brother’s friend.” He pointed to the grumpy one.

Caiden smiled and waved at me. I waved back. Damien looked at me and stiffened. Umm okay. Oh my god his eyes are a beautiful shade of grey. He is insanely hot except for the frown on his face.

“Hi I am Evelyn Davis.” I said smiling at Caiden “Sorry for being late.” I said to my group mates.

Damien got up suddenly looking straight at me. The others were looking at him weirdly. He smiled a big smile with almost all his teeth on display. Well this isn’t creepy… at all.
