She raised her hand and with her index finger she brushed the books, reading their titles. There were some that said "satanic pacts" others like "the call of the devil" "the forest and its hidden side" "small town legends" "werewolves and the full moon" and the last one said "Wisconsin Cases". Camila took out that last one, the book was big, it had a red cover with the image of the town itself. But that image was in black and white, as if it was taken years ago.

Something about it made my chest feel tight. Like I had seen it before. But I knew I hadn’t. I quickly closed the book. My heart was beating faster now. I stepped back. I didn’t like how that felt. Like the room was watching me. I turned to leave— And stopped. The front door. I heard it open. My heart jumped. I rushed out of the room and back into the main area, trying to act like I hadn’t moved. She stepped inside. Evelyn. Her eyes went straight to me.

The title sent shivers through me: 'Dark Powers, Secrets of the Werewolves'. I opened the book, and a strange glow emanated from the pages. I felt a sudden jolt, like a surge of electricity had passed through me. The room began to spin, and I fell to the ground, the book slipping from my grasp. As I struggled to get up, I heard the old woman's voice, urgent and worried. 'Ryker! Ryker, what's wrong?' She rushed into the room, her eyes scanning me frantically. Then her gaze fell upon the book, and her expression changed to one of alarm. 'Oh, no. You shouldn't have touched that.'

Nothing seemed out of place and yet nothing seemed right. I was about to go back to my thoughts when the familiar itch started at the back of my neck. I was being watched. Again. Dread swelled inside me. I pinched my eyes closed and took a deep, shallow breath. It had been silent for the last two days. After that night, he didn’t appear again. Until now… The images of that horrific night started reeling through my mind. Blood…knife…his creepy laugh… My eyes snapped open and my body jerked into action. Shooting up from the chair, I started grabbing all the books in my trembling hands.

The cover had a strange sigil, one that pulsed faintly under the dim lighting. I frowned. “This place… it doesn’t feel right.” It wasn’t just the books. There were jars placed on a nearby table—each containing murky liquids and unidentifiable objects floating within. Some looked like dried-up hearts, others like small, shriveled hands. I swallowed hard. Hades exhaled sharply. “It’s worse than I expected.”

Boiler rooms had always seemed suspicious to me and having a monster lurking down there didn't make it any better at that moment. I looked at Reese, who was watching the darkness, but relaxed. Suddenly the same sounds came from his coat pocket with which he had already lured the Spuma to the Grim Reaper. Then everything happened very quickly.
