His voice dripped with sarcasm, and I could feel my heart pounding in my chest, a mix of anger and undeniable attraction.
“Ugh! You’re impossible!” I exclaimed, throwing my hands up in exasperation. “I can’t believe I even thought this was a good idea.”
“Neither can I,” he replied, his tone suddenly serious. “But you can’t deny that it was good. We both know it was.”
