Blade and I moved in the same breath, steel and fire in our hands, cutting into the wave that crashed over us. The night exploded into war. The circle cracked around us, the first wave of Hellborn Kings crashing like waves against a cliff. Dirt and gravel sprayed under spinning tires, guns flashing with the faint burn of tracers. I shoved Nova low, her scream barely piercing the chaos. Isla clung to her mother, tiny fists curled like iron. “Stay down!” I shouted over the roar. “Blade, cover the left!” Blade didn’t hesitate. He was already a shadow in motion, sliding behind a fallen crate, knife flashing as he cut down a man trying to flank us. “Move! Now!”

Before Rio could deal with a deathly blow he saw the reality around him was breaking apart when he saw his right hand was obliterated out of existence. He looked back to see one of the blades exploding in a flash of violent yet beautiful light as the blade was released from its seals, it destroyed everything in its wake wiping what was left of the crystal chamber from existence. The Blade destroyed the stone, and spirit in the wake of its rage as it answered the call of its only master as it flew into the rubble destroying the stone that enveloped him.

My stomach knotted. “What do you mean?” I asked, my voice barely steady. Andre’s grin widened. “You’ll see.” He clapped his hands, and two warriors dragged out a crate from the armory. The sound of metal rattled inside. My chest tightened when I saw what they pulled free. Blades. Not training staff. Not wooden poles. Blades sharp enough to kill. Andre picked one up, running a finger along its edge before tossing it at my feet. The clang rang through the silence.

There's a threat of closing it permanently, but it's okay. Blades went straight into my face as soon as I went in. It draws beautifully as if it makes sure this wound will stay as a scar forever. I was just here for a few minutes, yet, threats to my life are already living. It was chaotic inside. There was a war happening. There's blood, a bow and arrows, and the main character- werewolves. I can't take it! I have to go back! "Terrence." It spoke again. "Stop it, pup! Don't try to convince me!"

Blood darkens his fur. He doesn’t make a sound. The cut doesn’t slow him. I duck under a snapping jaw and roll, coming up on one knee with my second blade already up. I strike again. Deeper. Cleaner. This is familiar. The burn in my arms. The narrowing of my vision. The way the rest of the world drops out when my body remembers what it’s for.

“Make yourselves at home while I see if he’s ready for your donations.” Blade leaves the rogues in the sitting room as he heads into the bedroom closing the door behind him. Blade looks at the bed and is a little surprised to find it empty, he scans the room and smiles as he finds his mate on his feet standing at the window wearing one of the robes from the bathroom.

He activated the spiritual energy within him, gathering it on his Thunder Blade. The Thunder Blade gleamed with a cold light, and a crimson hue appeared on the blade. "Crazy Blade Strike!" A sharp and fierce blood-red blade light cut through the air, flashing through the moonlit woods. Just as the blade light was about to touch Sebastian's body, a semi-transparent shield appeared in front of him. Clang! When the blade light struck the shield, the shield dissipated, and the blade light was also neutralized. Sebastian was unharmed, showing no signs of damage.

Blade came out with his usual all black clothing—a big black sweatshirt, a black baggy jean, black glasses, black face cap, black sneakers— and a revolver carefully tucked by his side. To my shock, the passenger door opened and a girl came out. She was obviously young, probably fourteen or fifteen with red hair and a round hazel eyes which peered at me through the glass of the coffee shop. I couldn’t help but wonder who she was and why Blade had decided to bring her along. They both shared words before walking towards the coffee shop. “Emily!” Blade called as he walked inside with his companion right behind him. “I’m right here,” I said waving my hands in the air to draw his attention.
