UNDER THE DON’S PROTECTION

UNDER THE DON’S PROTECTION

“You can purge it. End everything. Or lock it forever—take the burden. Your choice.” Emotional climax built slow—years of auctions, betrayals, viruses, deaths crashing together. Sofia’s flatline in Berlin. Nadia’s smile as she died. Anya’s fevered eyes in Port Harcourt. Dante and Rocco—my only constants—bleeding beside me through every hell. I pressed down—retinal scan flaring, heartbeat locking. “Final heir override. All remaining strains terminating. Global network permanent shutdown. Node self-destruct in sixty seconds.” The console flashed green—codes scrolling to zero. Servers began overheating—fans screaming, lights strobing red.

Luck and You

Luck and You

She doesn’t want to lie but she definitely and absolutely doesn’t want to admit that she is still bothered by it. From: Death Note L Don’t think about it. Sleep now. Good night. See you tomorrow. :) Patrice smiled unconsciously. Just the thought of seeing L tomorrow is making her giddy. *Good night, Death Note.* She thought as she turned the lights off.

How it Ends

How it Ends

Both sides face each other at opposite sides of the battlefield from yesterday, the stench of smoke and blood still fill the air to some degree. We hear that the officers simply named the battle, Final Eternity. Although I found the name a bit bland, in all truth I believe it didn’t matter. The ceremony was conducted by the meeting of Generals from both sides. When our own General Vaxides read the official Persian letter and inspected the seal for authenticity while the Persian Leader General Izari did the same with the Remanian letter. When both Generals returned the letters and saluted each other we knew the war was now over. The cheers of both armies are much more deafening than the fierc

There is too much to write about this story to write a review in 300 characters. I highly recommend this book, but start with the Delta’s Daughter if you haven’t already started there. Stout had me on a roller coaster of feelings with this one. I can’t wait to read the next one!

I really enjoyed this series. Many books on this platform have similar stories, which gets boring really fast. This book series kept me entertained the whole time. It had the perfect balance of romance and action. I enjoyed getting to know each character in more detail as each book was added.

The Perfect Death

The Perfect Death

After catching my supposedly frigid wife, Emmy Winslow, aroused by our household robot butler, I swallowed my disgust and sent the machine to a destruction facility. I never expected that decision to cost her life. On the way to chase after the robot, Emmy was involved in a horrific car accident and died at the scene. From that day on, I became notorious in our social circle as the jealous husband who drove his wife to her death. Five years passed. Night after night, I tortured myself by wondering if she would still be alive had I not been so petty over a machine. Until today, while discussing business at a private club, I passed a half-open VIP suite and heard one of Emmy's closest frie

End of the Line

End of the Line

He forced a smile, but his voice was shaking. On the other end, Wade just said softly, "Annie's dead. Her body was cremated a week ago." Zach's smile froze. The mug in his hand slipped to the floor and shattered. It was the couple's mug we had made together at a pottery shop. Zach gripped his phone tightly, unable to believe it. "Stop fooling around, Doctor Smith! How can someone just die so easily? I was just holding her hand not long ago. I promised I would come back for her… She always keeps her promises. She'll wait for me to come home."

Frequently Asked Questions

The ending of 'Death Note' is one of those moments that sticks with you long after the credits roll. Light Yagami, after years of outsmarting everyone as Kira, finally meets his match when Near and Mello corner him. The tension in that final warehouse scene is unreal—Light's desperate, sweating bullets, trying to write names while his allies turn against him. Ryuk, the shinigami who started it all, ultimately writes Light's name in the Death Note, sticking to their deal. It's poetic justice; Light dies alone on the stairs, just like countless victims he judged. What hits hardest is how his god complex crumbles—no grand speech, just a pathetic end. The epilogue shows the world moving on, proving no one's irreplaceable, not even Kira.

I love how it subverts typical 'genius protagonist' tropes. Light isn't redeemed or heroic; he's a cautionary tale about power corrupting absolutely. The manga delves deeper into his final moments, with panels emphasizing his unraveling sanity. Mikami's breakdown adds another layer—Light's manipulation destroyed even his most devout follower. It's bleak but brilliant storytelling, leaving you debating whether Light ever had a noble goal or if he was just addicted to playing god.
