Dom swallowed and motioned for the hounds to enter the portal. "Run, please!" Demetria screamed. Kerry noticed the first hellhound running to jump into the portal, and he shifted, meeting it on his way down. The impact of them hitting the ground shook, and Demetria felt it in her soul. Jane’s gaze met Demetria, and she smiled at her before shifting. If Jane was scared, she didn't show it. The portal began to close after the last one landed, and a fight was the last glimpse Demetria saw before Dom closed the portal.

Once the door closed, she got up and rubbed her burning behind, oh for the love of god, her behind felt like the king's furnace. She unpacked her backpack. She hadn't realized she was crying until she tasted salty tears. In the meantime, Dominic walked from the maid's quarters and stopped on his way to the castle. He found a nearby bench that faced his mother's rose garden. Why was his pulse suddenly racing? He took in deep breaths to calm himself. Dom stands and spits blood onto the floor his face is bruised and swollen but already seems to be healing. The images change again and now Dom is older and waking up. He seems excited with how he is smiling straight away, I see him quickly look at his arm and the smile on his face widens into a full-on grin. It’s the same mark that is on my arm, I start to feel terrible knowing I had no idea what that even was and then on top of that, my memory was erased. I am startled from my thoughts when Dom rushes out of the room and runs down the stairs in a blur, He finds his mother in the kitchen and I can tell he is excited to share the news.

Gasps echoed, and someone whispered a prayer. Dom's eyes narrowed. The dagger flew, swift as vengeance, slicing through the space between them before sinking deep into the man’s neck. Not enough to kill. Just enough to make him scream, though he didn’t. He gurgled instead, trembling like a leaf in storm winds, but still alive. Marcia licked her lips, watching him bleed. Dom finally spoke, his voice low, regal, and cruelly calm. “Start off with his toes, let his pains teach him obedience,”

As Nikolai releases more of his pheromones, the fight intensifying, my sense to control and resist him grows tiny. I bite my bottom lip. Then, like a rush, the sounds in my surroundings all rush back in. My senses gather themselves again, and Mrs. Dominion's scream is the next thing I hear right before everything grows silent. Her head was crushed into her torso, leaving her split into two, and the thoracic bones poking out.

I shout, struggling to restrain him. "You're going to kill him!" Dominic fights against my grip, his body trembling with anger. "Let me go, Jace! He deserves to die!" "I know you're hurting, Dad," I say, my voice strained. "But this isn't the way.” Slowly, gradually, Dominic's struggles subside. He slumps against me, his body shaking with sobs. "She's gone, Jace," he whispers, his voice broken. "She's really gone."

His eyelids were beginning to close. "No, stay awake," I said, jerking him violently. He turned uncomfortably again, and his eyelids started closing. It seemed he couldn’t help it, and all my efforts to keep him awake were futile. Finally, he closed his eyes and went back to sleep, and I crouched down on the floor and started crying. All my efforts were wasted. If Damon finds out I killed his father, I'm going to be dead meat. Kylian, Liam, and Lisa, does this mean I’ll never see them again?
