ALPHA REJECTION
I look towards Jack, shocked at his declaration, but he doesn't look my way, his eyes still locked on Violet's lifeless body.
The silence that follows is heavy, broken only by the crackling of the fire as Jordan lights the pyre. Flames lick at the wood, growing higher until they engulf her. The heat is intense, and we step back, forming a circle around the blaze. Some bow their heads in prayer; others simply watch, their faces etched with grief.
As the fire consumes her, I feel a sense of finality settle over us. This is the end of one chapter and the beginning of another. We’ve lost so much, but we’ve also gained something—each other. A family forged in fire and blood.
