And maybe that’s why I don’t notice when one of his teammates cuts in, swiping the puck straight out from under me.
“What the hell?” I blink as the kid Benji, the smallest one here, laughs, sprinting toward the net. Kade bursts into laughter beside me, hands on his knees like he can’t even breathe.
“Oh, that is beautiful,” he gasps between laughs. “Taken down by a ten-year-old.”
I shake my head, sighing dramatically. “Kid’s got no respect.”
