“Oh please. I’m already eighteen, which means that I’m an adult now. You’re the one who is still a kid.” Sophia teased him, unable to get rid of the lump in her throat at how uncertain the future was.
“Not in the next two months. Anyway, adult or not, I remember that we used to catch frogs and snails together when we were much younger.” Toby teased right back, and they both had a good laugh at that.
“I’m glad you're free from that bastard, Sophia,” Toby said softly, reaching across to the back seat to pat her hand gently, before facing forward again.
