THE LIE
He kept coming closer as I continued to inch away, until suddenly, my back pressed against the wall.
He reached me.
“I know you hate me, but unfortunately, you're my wife now. As you can see, no one is on your side anymore, not even your father. I know you've already called him,” he whispered, his hot breath brushing against my neck.
“If you want to get back on your feet, you’ll have to cooperate with me. But don’t worry, I won’t force you to do anything against your will.”
“What do you mean? And how do you know no one is on my side?”
