Well, we are going to have to try to prevent that from happening again. I need to get started on my essay instead of sitting here daydreaming about my boss and letting my food get cold. Shaking my head, I get up and go get my laptop out of my room to start working on my essay. Sitting back down at the table, I opened my Microsoft Word to start writing about Why I was taking the class. Then I start to eat my food while thinking about what I am going to write. Hmm, I don’t know how I’m supposed to start this. I need to think of a good way to impress Professor Scott with my writing.

I stood up and walked toward it. Picking up the book, I flipped through several pages, most of it was empty. Perfect. A smile slowly appeared on my face. Finally. Something useful. If I wrote everything down, I could organize my thoughts properly, I could make a detailed escape plan, every route, every possibility, every risk, everything would be written down. Then I sat back on the bed, opening the book, I held the pen tightly. At the top of the first page, I wrote three words.

“Because sometimes pride is too big for words.” Calla – POV That night, I placed both books side by side on my desk. River’s first novel. My second. And a third notebook beside them—blank. Waiting. Not for closure. But for whatever comes next. Because my story didn’t start with my birth. It started the moment I chose to tell it.

I didn’t bother greeting her, didn’t have to as she was so engrossed in what she was doing that she didn’t pay me a simple glance. Exactly what I wanted. To build my own bubble and get my task done without any form of distraction. I got down, took out my laptop and opened up the document. The first page had only my name as I had not yet come up with a name for the book. I moved the cursor down and ended up in the introduction page, where it all started.

The idea of the book was friendship which is the reason it was written in a story format according to what I read earlier from the sketchbook. “That is great. Let’s see starting from tomorrow so we can discuss my own book and how you are going to schedule your time to fit into the space that helps me do the job well.” I said to her. “I don’t think tomorrow will be a great day for such. Why don’t you allow us do it the day after while I look for any material that can help me with the comprehension and understanding again.” She said.

Here—” I flip a page. “Skim the first two paragraphs, then tell me what it’s about in two lines.” She hesitates, then bends over the page. Her lips move silently as she scans. Her brows pinch together, then smooth. A few seconds later, she looks up.

“Yes, well they’re not wrong. But you know what they say, third times a charm. I do actually plan on graduating this time around, so, yeah. Should we get started?” “I guess so. The first book on the list is 1984. Have you read it before?” “What do you think?” She rolls her eyes and says, “So, no. I read it a couple years ago but I would definitely not be able to write a whole report without re-reading it so we should probably start there and jot down any topics you think would be good as you’re reading. Except we’re definitely not doing how Big Brother uses technology to exercise control over the population because the entire class is probably going to use that.”

He said, while letting go of Camille’s hand, and he walked in and sat at the right corner. My eyes followed him until I blinked, breaking myself from the stares. “Alright Camille let us begin.” I said simply and she gave all attention to me. “ The idea of essay writing is to describe and express feelings and emotions.
