I had to get there.
“Give me ten minutes,” I said and closed the link.
I shouted across the field for the trainees to stop and come back. There were several looks of surprise, but more looks of relief. Once they had all got back to me, I told them that training was cancelled for the rest of the day and they could start getting ready for the feast tonight. There was a cheer through the trainees, which soon quieted when I sent a disapproving look. I sent them off with the promise of double training next week. They headed off with a groan. I watched as one by one they shifted into their dragons and flew off towards the city. I shook my head. These kids really did rely too much on their dragons.
