Httyd Drawing Novels & Stories

"What does your new friend look like, Heidi?" Heidi proudly lifted her drawing. It was a crude, childish sketch of a very tall figure standing between two giant green trees. The figure was colored completely in dark gray and black crayons, but the most unsettling part was the face. Heidi had used a bright yellow crayon to draw two massive, perfectly round circles for the eyes.

From outside, very faintly, almost nothing at all, came one heavy thud that might have been somebody’s body hitting the wall or somebody’s ego splitting in half. Poppy didn’t even turn her head. She held out her drawing to me proudly. “Look. This is the new castle. This one is for me. This one is for Bunny. This one is for Mommy if you behave.” I looked at the drawing of a giant pink tower with a helipad, a vegetarian dragon, and something that might have been a conference room. “Beautiful,” I said. And outside, the world was welcome to keep burning itself down.

She sucks at drawing. “I didn’t know my head was this big,” he choked. I moved closer, and I tried to hold in my laughter so I wouldn't hurt her feelings. “I love your neck,” I choked out, looking at the drawing. She made him very tall with a big head and a thin neck. A lot was wrong in this drawing, and I wanted to laugh so hard, especially with how stunned he is. “This is for you, Mommy," Hailey said, handing over my card. I collected it, and I pressed my lips together.

“Mommy, Daddy, look!” Thomas turned off the stove, wiping his hands on a towel before crouching down to her level. “Let’s see this masterpiece.” Lily carefully held up the paper. The dragon she had drawn was big and colorful, with red wings, yellow flames, and a green tail. It was messy, with crayon lines darting everywhere, but it was full of heart. “Wow,” Thomas said, his voice filled with awe. “That’s the coolest dragon I’ve ever seen.”

"Mom, I drew this when I missed you." Yvette took the paper and looked at it. It was a drawing of Fortian Manor and herself. She couldn't believe her eyes. Even though the drawing looked rough, he had managed to draw all the details of the manor. He got closer to her and said, "Mom, when I'm bored, Ms. Wendy takes me out for a walk. I like to draw all the places I like, and I wanted to show them to you." "You've been a great help, baby."

I say, and the boy comes closer to me with confidence oozing from him. He hands me his drawing with a smug expression on his face. Oh, heavens, he's like a mini Harry. I take a look at the drawing, and wow. It's a drawing of a rocket, and it's so beautiful. No wonder he was bullying Lilah; his drawing is otherworldly. "Dylan, this is..." I'm at a loss for words. "Amazing, fantastic, beautiful, perfect," he completes for me in a smug tone, and I roll my eyes.

"Really good! I made a drawing today of you and me and Mama. Oh, and Grandpa too! Even though I don't know what he looks like yet, but I just imagined." I glanced at Alex with raised eyebrows. "Really? Can we see it?" "Of course you can! I worked super hard on it.” "I just hope you made me look so handsome in that picture, or else I'm gonna have to eat you up along with your drawing.” "Of course I did. I even made you really, really tall... like a giant tree!" Hailey giggled. Alex raised an eyebrow. "Like… a tree?" "Yeah! See?" She held up her drawing to the camera, and I had to bite my lip to keep from laughing out loud. Alex was indeed drawn like a stick figure tree.

I worry when I'll ever get to be near him again. "I'm always with you even when you don't think I am," he said. I smiled, and he disappeared from my sight. When I went into the school building, our school swimming team's opponents had already left. Dims-Wood High won, thanks as usual to the captain of the swimming team, Bryson. When he's in the water, he is like a fish. The hallway was filled with students happily lifting Bryson around in the air. As they cheered happily, my eyes went over to Connor's locker to see him staring back at me.
