When she ends the call, her squeal of excitement fills the room. “Nat!” she exclaims, pulling me aside so my stylist can’t overhear. “You’ve been called for a chemistry read for Haymitch’s movie! They’ve just told me the placeholder title: The Last Portrait.”
My heart skips a beat. “The Last Portrait?” I whisper into the air in disbelief.
She nods, practically bouncing. “Yes! This is big. You know they don’t just do chemistry reads unless they’re seriously considering someone. This is it, Nat!”
