“I’ll see you there, Ari. Be ready.” He hangs up. No goodbye. No explanation. Just vibes and chaos. I stare at my phone like it betrayed me. “Okay… that was weird.” I walk back into the family room, and everybody is staring like I walked in naked. “That was Hunter,” I announce. “He’s having a Christmas gala the second weekend of December. He wants all of us to come.” Patrick nods. “I already got my invitation, but no date.” “Well,” I say, “sounds like he’s sending those out now.”

"Stella, it's Christmas Eve again… Say, do you think there will be a surprise this year?" His cracked lips moved slightly. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a match he had picked up from the roadside. With a scratch, the match ignited. A tiny flame flickered in the darkness, the weak light reflecting in his cloudy eyes. Just as the match was about to burn out, Hunter slipped into a dying hallucination. The darkness before his eyes faded. Instead, the ruined villa was restored to its glorious state from three years ago. The lights were warm and bright, the heating was running, and the cheerful sound of Christmas tunes filled the room.

Frotconn and Collosus Group would no longer have to fear running low on collaboration opportunities. The two senior members of the Harrison family were extremely pleased with what Winter had done and thought she had done a good job this time. Hence, with their encouragement, Winter and Xavier had gone on a holiday. That was why Winter had only just woken up. Xavier’s endurance had been extremely high last night, and she was exhausted. Upon hearing what Jane said, Winter thought she came bearing good news. “Today’s news? What’s it about? Is it saying that I’ve gotten the Saint Di sponsorship?”

My heart leapt into my throat as I screamed his name, my voice lost in the chaos. But Xander didn’t need the warning. His wolf turned sharply, his ice-blue eyes locking onto the hunter as he lunged. The man managed to fire, the dart grazing Xander's flank, but it wasn’t enough to stop him. With a guttural snarl, Xander brought the man down, his jaws closing around the hunter's shoulder and rendering him unconscious.

His eyes glow white as snowfall. Hunter (to himself): “Mountains remember. And I have not forgotten the scent of exiles.” He kneels beside a pawprint in ash. Hunter (smiling): “She walks among them. The half-blood Queen. And the bastard prince follows.” He releases a signal flare. Three more flares answer across the valley. Hunter (low growl): “Time to cleanse the peaks.” The Mountain Stirs A deep chamber beneath the village. Xavier follows a dream—his feet bare, pulled by a force older than thought. The stone is warm beneath him.

The guy whispered something into his ears and winked. Everyone went back to the haunted house. Now was the last level that is The Silent Night. They all went inside the room. Just then the lights went off. Shama looked here and there but she couldn’t see anything. It was very dark. Suddenly, the whole room filled with thunderous voices and cloud rumbling as if it was going to rain. Strong wind started blowing. Shama looked here and there but no one was in her sight. She walked around but couldn’t find anyone. The room was looking like maize.

Ethan nodded in approval, his eyes filled with a joy that Christine had never seen before. Blushing, Christine's cheeks turned pink as Hunter approached her, presenting the exquisite bouquet of white roses—a symbol of his pure intentions. "Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!" the children innocently demanded, eagerly awaiting their request to be fulfilled. A mischievous spark was evident in Hunter's eyes. He felt grateful that the gods had granted his deepest desire, and he was determined not to let this moment slip away.

On Christmas Eve, I finally dragged myself out to beg for food. The giant screen outside the mall was blasting headlines about Leon and Chloe. Apparently, to welcome Chloe to the family estate, Leon had dropped a ridiculous amount of money lighting up the entire city. Everything would go off at midnight. Under the screen, a kind shop owner handed me a bread roll. I scarfed it down, thanking him again and again. Didn't matter that I stayed tucked in a corner. Security still came over and chased me off. Night fell. My whole body shook as the last bit of warmth drained out of me.

I'm anxious to see my Snowie but Jaxon tells me to be patient and have a bath first. “The goddess be praised! They're back!” A woman announces as soon as she catches sight of Jaxon carrying me into the compound. I'm a little surprised to see the pack is camped outside, eating from bowls and all merry under the dark sky. The tree is still shining with the lights Cassie and I decorated it with, the star on top glowing brighter than the dull crescent moon above. It's not a full moon anymore. That means it's a new day. That means it's Christmas!
